If y’all just want something to watch about fnaf, especially dealing with the things about this timeline that were proven false, the gtlive channel covers these in longer formats and real time theory crafting. And he is super inclusive of small name creators and being open to listen to all differing points of view. Not necessarily suggesting you react to them (the episodes are typically 45 minutes to an hour-ish) but for anybody curious, they’re really fun to watch! And I honestly know him from there far better than I do any of the theory channels
this is my first time watching any of matpat's fnaf theories and i have to say the amount of times i said "what? that's not how it goes" made me realize just how many ways you can interpret the lore of these games. while it is enjoyable to have a story left up to fan interpretation, i do think a lot of it is due to the creator of the games not exactly being the best storyteller. i love the games but too many things were changed and retconned over the years that its nearly impossible to tell what exactly is going on anymore
So I have one issue with Matthew Patthew. He supports autism speaks. It's a relatively shitty autism "research" organization, kinda shad.

It is without any competition the very best FNAF lore summary on Youtube, and it is actually written in chronological order so it's perfectly understandable to first time watchers
Nah the creator of the games was absolutely flying by the seat of his pants at first, but around Sister location, the 5th game I believe, the story was starting to become more well rounded. With the newest VR games as well as pizzeria simulator there’s a pretty straightforward Continuity to the time right nowadays. I do wish the books talked about the actual games, though. Most of them are side stories, almost as if they were an alternate universes.
The hatred of MatPat is usually unwarranted. I’ve heard people say they hate him purely because his voice is annoying but as someone with autism I’d kill for his voice. He made a joke about attack helicopters in a video once which made people think he was being transphobic because “I identify as an attack helicopter” is a transphobic meme format. But it seemed like he repeated something his viewers said without knowing the deeper meaning(he did a poll to figure out his viewer demographics and people identified as attack helicopters). Someone once said he was racist because he said the N word but if you watch the video in question, he’s looking at a pikachu with inverted colors and he refers to it as “negachu” as in negative pikachu. I’ve also seen people get angry that he defends capitalism. You know that system that runs the country that he lives in and also fuels the film and gaming industry? You know the industries that he makes his entire living off of?
There’s honestly no genuine reason to hate him. There are genuine criticisms but that’s what they should stay as. Like how he made that Game of Thrones theory and claimed that he made up that theory even though it was floating around the fandom since the 1990s when the books first started coming out.
You pretty much hit the nail on the head. Almost all of the hate is either because he's popular or because he's legitimately a really good guy. People constantly try to dig up dirt on him and prove he's this secret horrible person, but it never actually works because that's just not who he is and it pisses them off.
The fnaf timeline is basically like Kingdom hearts, where you'd have to consume EVERY piece of media to get the full lore. It's extremely convoluted and unpolished to some, since there were retcons caused by fan feedback(there was a dream theory initially but it was changed because many hated the idea naturally.) The Creator initially had the story layout but many speculate that MatPat/Game theory affected his story for how much he often gotten right. There are fans that believe the series shouldve ended after the 6th game.
So yeah at this point, it can be believed the creator is winging it, at least in my opinion.
So for the games. He's saying that Elizabeth makes sense to die and become baby before the crying child. Except that baby couldn't have been built yet because nobody died until the crying child in 1983 and afton hadn't killed anyone until 1985. Plus freddy fazbears pizza has to close before circus baby's becomes operational, and it hasn't yet closed at that point in time
It's funny knowing that Michael is the protagonist of the series trying to stop everything his murderous father did. So Michael apologists are kind of justified

I haven't been in the deep of the fandom for the past year or so, but from what I can recall, there are certain parts here and there that believe that Scott Cawthon (maker of the games) has half of the stuff planned and half not. FNAF is notorious for it's incredibly complicated story, and now that Steel Wool has taken over the game series, who knows where the story can go.
Some, but not all, of the books are actually unrelated to the main canon of the games, but inform certain ideas. For instance, I believe there's a story involving a child, a tense family relationship, and a ball pit that time travels back to someone killing kids in a pizzeria. While it's certainly not the main timeline, this story gives allusions to how the crying child who died by having his head-crushed felt about his family and his father.
So while I do think he has an idea of what he’s doing it is a pretty accepted theory that originally when the first 4 games came out, the theory was everything was a dream but the fans weren’t happy with that. So when Sister Location came out, he changed things to not make it a dream and everything that happened was real.
Note this is a theory that a lot of the fanbase accepts but not everyone.

I really recommend Five Nights At Freddy lore in only 8:47:37 it’s the best lore video I’ve ever seen you can watch it on your own time if want as it is a very long video but well worth watching

yes that video, in my opinion, is definitely the most accurate timeline. matpat’s timeline is a good introduction but i disagree with so many of his interpretations

It’s so funny you mention time travel because in the books there is actually a “time traveling ball pit” :’) yeah it gets crazy in the books but Scott Cawthon (creator of FNAF) has said that there are things in the books that don’t correlate to the game story lore. So imo I don’t think it’s canon. But who knows in the future lol.
