I do not know if this has been clarified, but in the lore of this universe, demons cannot be killed in the material plane. If you defeat one all that happens, is they get sent back to their original plane of existence. To permanently kill one, you must kill them there. In their home plane of existence.

The Mighty Nein (Campaign 2) is set to come out next year! It will probably be 2026 when we get the next season of Vox Machina.

main difference for that ending with the group splitting is in the campaign only Scanlan left the group and everyone was still together.(also the show splits the party up way more than they do in the campaign)

That portal thing Raishan did was this shows version of Meteor Swarm. F&D's most powerful offensive magical spell.Even at level 20 the only person in Vox Machina who would even have a chance to learn that spell would be Scanlan and that's only because Bard's at 18th level can choose to learn 2 spells of any level from any class.

That is the whispered one we saw him season 1 that was the god that the briorwoods was trying to revive , remember that weird death orb that was left behind after the ritual seemed like it failed

In the campaign, there are lots of deaths. In DND resurrections are possible, Matt makes it harder than it usually is in normal games. The show cut some deaths and so far has kept the really important ones, the ones that had an impact on the story. Season 4 was recently greenlit so we know the story continues here but they wrapped up the story arc here while teasing us for a future since they didn't know if they would get a new season. Critical Role does have another animated series coming based on their second campaign which takes place around like 25 years post Vox Machina. I believe it will come out next year while they work on season 4 of this show
