The action in this show is fantastic
I second the idea of watching the polar express
While I do think some of these shows like this one or even Loki could have worked as movies because they legitimately feel like movies that were cut up, there are others like Wandavision, She-Hulk, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (banger Spider-Man show by the way, hope you can eventually get to it) that take way more advantage of the episodic nature of being a television show as opposed to a movie. Wandavision in particular also had a big focus on the speculation over what was going on and the theorizing. I definitely do not think it would have had the same effect if you just watched it all in one go as opposed to being there at the time watching it week to week and talking to friends, family, or people on the internet about what was going on.
I'm usually on Boom's side, but movies just cant capture the same level of storytelling as a miniseries or TV show in my opinion. Unless you build a cinematic universe I guess.
Stan & Mackie or “Stackie” as they have come to be known have some of the best chemistry in Marvel’s film & television. It all started in 2013/14 back during the press tour for CA:The Winter Soldier. Sebastian Stan is an introvert who never liked to talk during interviews. So in order to get him to talk and feel comfortable they paired him with Anthony Mackie, who is very much an extrovert. Ever since they have been one of the best duos in the MCU and were almost always together for the press tours of all the team up movies going forward. Their interviews together are hysterical and legendary. If you guys are into watching the cast interviews, you should definitely check out their’s. Anthony is constantly talking about Seb’s good looks and making him blush and get all flustered. It’s adorable, Bree would really enjoy their interactions. They have become very good friends over the years. Anthony was at the Golden Globes when Sebastian won his last year, in some of the photos Anthony looks more excited than Sebastian. They are super supportive of each other.
This explains why their chemistry and banter in this show feel so genuine lmao
I love that you guys are reacting to all the shows, they really do add a lot of story building to the MCU…. I’m also super excited to see your reactions to the X-Men movies and the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man eventually
just wish they did 2 eps per release because they are pretty far behind if they are going to do 1 time release once a week t hey wont finish till next year :/

While i do think yall should do What if despite knowing many who skipped it. it is a funny one a bit like Loki where it has multiple seasons that had other shows and movies between them, 3 in total. but unlike Loki i personally think you can hold of on it as a whole until after Loki season 2. and its was 100% a fun watch for me <3

I’m honestly pretty sure that this would’ve been successful as a theatrical release; I think part of the reason Thunderbolts bombed is because it was a non-sequel marvel movie released at a time when the theatrical release window (especially for Disney) has become much shorter than it used to be. Also fun fact: Carl Lumbly, the guy who plays Isaiah, is also one of the most prolific actors for Martian Manhunter in animated versions of the Justice League, having voiced him in both Justice League and JLU

I think the problem with phase 4 is more with the movies than the shows. The only good multiverse story in the MCU is Loki and for their plan to work they needed the big multiverse movies to work. And now that they failed, phase 5 is a mess bc they rewrote the whole story to make RDJ Doctor Doom so instead of Shang Chi 2 or Midnight Suns or Young Avengers or anything else they teased, everything released in phase 5 feels like filler or set up for something that got scrapped bc Doom is the big bad instead of Kang. And IMO the shows are only allowed to be good bc they can afford to take risks, after Eternals failed it feels like Marvel is never taking a risk again with a movie because it is just too expensive. And that is just a problem with movies in general, everyone is chasing that billion dollar movie instead of making good risky stuff for cheap.
You can't really blame them for Majors being such a POS that it ruined the whole set up for Kang.
if Ant Man 3 made a billion dollars Majors would still have a job, either way they could have recast him if they had faith in their multiverse story.
Eternals didn't fail, it was different
ppl started screaming woke cuz of this show ngl. Like the police scene and shit like that. imo these shows and the view of them also got effected cuz of post-trump where a lot of ppl now jus say hate on shit cuz they think it's woke. But tbh Loki, Wanda Vision, and Moon Knight are prolly the most liked ones w daredevil. While, a lot of ppl at the time also agreed with Eric to the point that they should have just gave Sam a movie. As marvel at this point doesn't have dual MCs anymore like they did in the previous phases with Tony and Cap.
I think a lot of people were fine with stuff like the police scene, but when the show started to really focus on the idea that people won't accept Sam being a black captain America and his big speech at the end of the show, is where the complaints came in. Not because it's "woke" but because it does seem a little out of nowhere that they are focusing on this for Sam's character, and I personally think it was because of all the protest around George Floyd's murder in 2020 that influenced the decision to do this. As that was a time where everyone and everything felt the need to discuss race. This may especially be true if the original idea they had for the series involved a disease getting spread that they had to scraped because of covid 🤔.

Yeah with introduction of shows for a lot of people it started to feel like homework instead of the usually 3 movies a year and besides Loki and DDBA, most of the shows either felt like they should’ve been a movie or they had trash writing and watching the movies phase 4+ you can tell the quality started to drastically change and that’s because Kevin Fiege couldn’t be everywhere at once so some projects wouldn’t get much feedback and attention from him as others
Moon Knight, What If, and Wanda vision I would say were fine as shows (in Moon Knight's case it could have had more episodes or another season 🤔). Where the another shows including Loki definitely could have been condensed into movies 🤔.
When you do Loki, you have to do season 1, then Ant-Man 3. Cause of information you'll get in season one. But there's information in the movie that will lead up into season 2.
I def think that both Falcon and the Winter Soldier could have been a movie, I do like this show as a TV format though, and argue could NOT do Wandavision as a movie.
However, Eternals ABSOLUTELY should have been an Disney+ show because my god, that movie was too long for a movie but too short for character development. But at least Eternals is very pretty to watch and very cinematic.
I just remembered, Hawkeye also has a serie and you kinda have to watch Daredevil before it.

You absolutely in no way need to watch Daredevil before Hawkeye. You barely need to watch Daredevil before Daredevil: Born Again. I don't think the original three DD seasons were even canon when Hawkeye came out.
