this show was great minus all the stuff the had to change because of the pandemic.
I'm much happier that you're actually watching the shows where they belong and so just skipping through all the movies
Actually, I've been thinking about it and I'm wondering if it comes down to people who are just there for the rock'em sock'em robots and explosions, and fast forward through all the talking bits because it's 'boring'. Like, I'm sorry, but I'm here for the characters. The explosions are just a fun silver lining.
Sorry to hear your patreon has taken a hit with you guys watching the shows and not just film hopping. Surprised that's the case too! A couple of the shows miss the mark and clearly have too much studio interference but I'd say the majority of them are strong and for sure worth watching x
I'd be interested to see how many subscriptions are made after a full season of a show has been released. Something common I've seen is that people will unsub and then resub once a particular show/season is complete because they don't want to, or can't afford to wait for multiple months on weekly releases
This show more than most was affected by Covid. They had to change the plot bc it involved the villains releasing a virus and that wouldn’t fly during the pandemic
sigh now i unfortunately have to see them hate my boy John Walker :(
I loved WandaVision and I loved this show too! it's just so good! <33333333
I love all the characters in this show
One thing I always disliked about this series is them canonizing Tony didn’t pay the Avengers. They’re are tons of line across all the MCU films confirming Tony payed for all their suits, tech and housing along with general pay checks. I know they wanted to create a story here of Sam not having money for the boat plot but Tony would’ve definitely had every Avenger well taken care of. That’s the whole reason you have a billionaire on the team to remove those money issues as plot problems. Same with Batman.
Not really, if that was the case, Peter Parker could just go up to him in the comics and say 'please help me mister Stark' and he would never had money problems again. Plus they were fighting in the movies, and when he left to space he couldn't have possibly arranged that. When everybody was gone for 5 years, he didn't have a reason and when he figured out time travel he thought about his family and not the Avengers. Pepper should've done it, but who know how she is feeling about it all. I think the biggest problem is that Anthony is black and people just didn't like that. Same with the new Captain America, I saw so many hateful comments about a black guy representing America as Captain America... Even though 12% of Americans are black.
Furthermore, that's also kinda the plot right now, who is going to be the leader of the Avengers and which company is going to run it. So I understand your thought progress and I think you're mostly right. But I think it's more like how I tried to explain it.
he is so dead countdown, 1,099
Please be respectful. That man is the official Captain America! lol
“Do you have any siblings?”
“I have a sister.”
Notice that Bucky doesn’t say ‘had’. In the comics, Bucky has a sister named Rebecca who is still alive in the modern age but has Alzheimer’s and lives in a home. They lost their parents at a young age and were separated afterwards but she kept tabs on him until WWII. In the comics, Bucky is Steve’s child sidekick. Bucky lied about his age to enlist and Rebecca, like most of the general public, thought he was killed in action. Bucky eventually finds her in the home and confesses his sins as the Winter Soldier to her but she doesn’t remember this because of her condition. As far as she knows, Bucky died in the war. It’s a smaller storyline that not a lot of people know about that adds a lot to Bucky’s tragedy. I bring this up bc this scene implies that she’s alive and Bucky has in fact gone to see her. No spoilers btw. We never see her and she’s not brought up again after this.
This is EASILY my favorite of the Marvel shows, other than the ending. There is so much good in this show but I just feel they really dropped the ball at the end.
Oh, also, the "new Captain America" is played by Wyatt Russell, Kurt Russell's son.
I watched most of this show but didn't finish it, so I'm excited to rewatch and finish with y'all. I didn't dislike it, I just fizzled out watching some of the shows
I hope you continue watching the older non-MCU movies. (X-Mens and TASM etc.)
I've always said that that opening does for Sam what the Winter Soldier opening did for Steve Rogers: basically "I apologize, I was unfamiliar with your game."
THIS SHOW IS MY FAVORITE out of all the mcu shows. fun fact this show was made to feel cinematic. To this day I feel like this show should have been a movie. Bucky Barnes is my favorite MCU character, and Sebastian Stan is one of my favorite actors of all time. Any project that he does I will watch it.
Marvel reactions!! We are so back !
Ruff is right, I didn't get mad until She-Hulk, to me it was all over the place trying to do the Deadpool formula.
Let's go!
Fun fact, this show was supposed to come out BEFORE WandaVision but bc of COVID and (iirc) reshoots this came out after WV!
There's a lot of things that contributed to the TV shows not doing as well, such as the changing political climate at the time, superhero fatigue, people just not vibing with the new series as much as the movies. But the biggest one has to be how hard it was to keep up with all of this, with the movies its simple, watch this this and this but with the tv shows they are MUCH longer and are much more prone to having characters that people liked popping up in stories they dont like. So a lot of people felt like the tv shows ended up just being homework that you had to pay a subscription for, wait several weeks to finish, and then wait for the next one.
Marvel had some great ideas and the shows are pretty good when you isolate them, but as a whole the shows are pretty middle of the road in comparison to the rest of the MCU. which isnt bad, unless you are coming off of ENDGAME.
Sam for the win!
John Walker lover here :)
looks like he'd be some rando throwaway turns into one of the most complex mcu characters
One of my favorite Marvel series
