You guys were right about the foreshadowing with the tv shows and movies that Steven and Greg watched. The lonely blade movie foreshadowed bismuth’s get shattering weapon and then the alien abduction movie foreshadowed the greg being abducted.

Not to mention the episode of Crying Breakfast Friends Steven and Garnet were watching foreshadowed Pearl's betrayal of Garnet with the Sardonyx incident. That's why when Steven asks Garnet "I'd forgive her, wouldn't you?" when talking about the cartoon characters, Garnet's response was "hmmm."
