  1. Also, this is the last time we will see Misty for a long time. In the show, sometime between this movie and the next, she is forced to leave Ash and Brock and return home to take command as the gym leader once again. Subsequently, she gets replaced by another girl with a bandanna and her little brother.

  2. In the gen 5 video games the Gym leaders and elite 4 members, who are basically the leaders of cities and stuff will actively fight the bad guys as you go through the game, sometimes even telling you to let them fight the villains while you go through the games.
There are cop pokemon trainers that will battle you when it’s night time exclusively because it’s suspicious for you to be alone at night.
In gen 7 there are police stations in almost every town where they’re doing criminal investigations

  3. I loved how Boom just went off on Annie & Oakley for what they did. I am so happy to be watching his reactions to what is happening. I highly recommend the special, Mewtwo Returns as that one is fun

  4. I hope you guys get recommended to watch the entire series like you have with one piece and dragon ball. It is long though, but I still think you guys would like the show all the way through. I highly recommend it but if you don’t feel like starting to watch this long series, I understand. I even think Boom would have a good time too.

    1. Not to mention the seasons are all separated into series based on each gen, so it’s not like they’d have to commit to watching all of them at once. Plus Ash’s era of the anime has officially come to an end so it’s not ongoing like one piece or dragon ball

  5. Honestly, I never saw Jirachi. Looks alright but it never caught my full attention. I am sure it’s fine if yall skip it. LOL JK I just can’t wait for yall to watch Pokemon Destiny Deoxys, such a fun film.

  6. Yes, you could question how Espion and Ariods were able to take down two legendary Pokemon. But I always viewed it as Latios and Latias are inexperienced and still “young”. In the film, they say the old man has known the two since they were babies. So if we assume the man is maybe 60-70 that is the age of Latios and Latias. They also remain hidden, since most people don’t know they exist, thus making me make the assumption they don’t use their powers too often.

  7. Things that I enjoyed about this movie were the music, the villains having a conclusion, there were consequences for their actions, and most of the new characters being used compared to other films. Latias couldn’t carry Ash earlier in the film when they were playing so she couldn’t fly him to the museum. So a nice call back to use the boat from the beginning race. Ash left his belt in the hotel so he couldn’t use his Pokemon at all and he “couldn’t catch Kabutops” with a Pokeball because he left his stuff too. The ending always made me cry but it felt real when Latios to died at the end. The kiss is debated because Bianca always ware her white hat but in the end, she left it in her room. So who knows who kissed Ash?

  8. Am I the only one who doesn’t care that a Pokemon looks like an ice cream? It’s not even a literal ice cream: they are big icicle creatures made of solid ice and only have a snow covering, making them resemble the look. People in-universe made ice cream based on their appearance.

  9. There’s also a pokemon that’s nothing but a set of car keys on a ring. Klefki or something like that. Lots of people defend it, but i think it’s ridiculous

  10. Legendary pokemon aren’t always one of a kind, Latias and Latios are probably some of the most common (still extremely rare) there are still quite a few of them around, and Ash and crew encounter them the most of any Legendary pokemon through out the series.

  11. I absolutely love hearing Boom rant his (good-natured) frustrations while everyone laughs. He’s 100% right. There’s a surprising amount of “But WAIT! THE PROPHECY!” in these movies. I love it, and I’m looking forward to the other movies! 🙂

  12. “[Office Jenny] ain’t doing shit.” Y’know, I wasn’t going to recommend it, just because I didn’t think you’d enjoy the style of humor, but after more thought, I changed my mind. Please react to Pokemon ‘Bridged by 1KidsEntertainment.

  13. What’s also funny about that reused intro, was that the music used wasn’t even *from* the 4th movie… It was from the 2nd, while Ash is riding on Lugia’s back. XD
I really love the music used in this movie, though. VERY Ghibli-esk. My only dislike, is the lack of Brock and Misty being useful.

  14. Holy heck, these Pokemon Movies are such big waves of nostalgia since I used to watch them a lot when I was younger. You guys are awesome for reacting to them. I can’t wait for more!

  15. Well I’ll say one thing that confuses me if thinking about the story is how did Ariados and Espeon manage to defeat Latios to capture it. Based on past movies it makes sense for the pokemon used to be able to capture the legendaries shown. Tyranitar defeating Celebi I can understand. But yeah I don’t know how Latios and Latias couldn’t beat Ariados and Espeon. Aerodactyl and Kabutops giving them trouble seems likely though.

Anyways, I think I saw this movie maybe once or twice, but forgot most of it so it was fun watching it, but definitely have others being more favorites than this one. At least for me, I can’t wait until we get to the Lucario and Darkrai movies.

  16. Gosh, I love this film so much! Still do love it! It made me fall in love with Latias and Latios as Pokemon, and I love the flow and energy the pacing and narrative had. Especially, as well, the subtly to which they showed how Latios gave his life to protect the town and his sister, Latias – it still makes me tear up.

The introduction confusion was brilliant XD Loved how the coloration of certain Pokemon is only made difference to tell them apart too.

Oh! And the Latias kiss at the end! That was such a crazy point of discussion at the time, even people debating if it was actually Latias or Bianca – though I think the signs definitely make it clear who it was!

Can’t wait to see your reaction to the next movie! The trauma and nightmares the main creature at the end gave me is hard to understate!

  17. you gotta watch Mewtwo Returns aswell! its not a “movie” but its a movie length special (74min the, first movie was 75min) that is basically the sequel to the first movie and i have no idea why they don’t call it a movie (maybe because it didn’t run in theaters? idunno)

  18. The threats for the last three movies have been about the same, they were all localized threats that if not stopped could have destroyed the world just not all at once. The crystals, the guy with the celebi, and this super weapon instead of the first two movies where a giga storm was just gonna destroy the world all at once.

  19. The reason why Ash couldn’t fly with Latias, is that Latias is smaller than it’s sibling, Also it showed them trying earlier in the movie and Ash was a bit too heavy for her.

  20. I havent watched the reaction yet due to time reasons, so I only watched the review section, but on the subject of the stakes in the movies, I personally like the more grounded stakes more than the end of the world kinda movies, because it feel more realistic as well as makes the world feel bigger. It’s like in our world where right now, there could be a massive catastrophe somewhere and we just wouldn’t know it. Makes it just a tad more believeable in my books. But I think this movie as well as movie 6,7,8 and 14 got the stakes just right. It’s grand yet still believeable.

  21. This has to be my most rewatched Movie period. It was THE SHIT for kid me and I’m excited to see how you guys are gonna react to it. It also marks the last time Misty is in a movie and the beginning of my favorite stretch of movies (this movie to movie 14).
