I wasn't expecting to tear up during Kota realizing Deku is his hero. I don't remember doing that the first time around 🥲🥹

This is the start of the best part of MHA up until the last two seasons.

these two episodes we meet Magne and Tiger! Tiger is a trans man and uses He/Him(obvi). While less obvious, Magne is a trans woman and uses she/her. You'll hear the heroes refer to her with masculine pronouns but the villains will always call her "big SIS mag" just a heads up <3

Nobodies mentioned it yet, so I will! Very fun fact about two characters introduced in these two episodes, which isn't really addressed in the show/manga but is talked abt in supplimental material!

Tiger of the Wild Wild Pussycats and Magne of the League of Villains are both canonically trans. Tiger is a Trans Man (FTM), and due to being a hero was able to afford surgery and got it done in Thailand! Meanwhile Magne is a Trans Woman (MTF) and due to being poor (and a criminal), is only able to socially transition (which, while we don't have much on her backstory, possibly could've been part of the reason why she went down the path of villain-y.)

While it is a little. Odd. That the canon Trans Woman is a villain, it is nice to see the other characters in her group properly gender her (Big Sis Mag is her nickname), and it IS pretty rare to see a Trans Man in media! Both are interesting characters because they get introduced at the same time essentially and do represent the classist divide of this kind of topic.

when i was a kid i was given a rare diagnosis that i would never feel 100% of any emotion. i was never truly happy never truly sad never truly feeling. i credit episode 4 of this season as the 1st time i felt emotions fully and i have experienced full emotion since.

the pure selflessness of Izuku made me cry for a tv show when i didn't cry for death in real life beforehand. this season unlocked a part of my brain to experience emotion fully.

Deku vs Muscular is my favorite fight in the series. It just has so much heart and tension. I know there are better animated and choreographed fights in this season alone but the combination of deku standing and winning a battle this stacked against him as well as becoming Kota's hero is such a tearjerker. My boy did it.

The subtitles say different things then the talking because it's translating for the sub version. The dub version changes what they say alot.

Which is interesting as the earlier season 1 episodes matched up subtitles and what the character is saying.

from what i understand 1 mill isnt literal really, its deku hyping himself up with an adrenaline and emotional outburst channeled into a full power 1 for all attack. all might powered up his final hit against nomu in s1 in a similar fashion, both put all their feelings into a more supercharged attack and we saw the one for all stars align with both moves

As hype as episode 4 was, trust me guys it's just the beginning. Also, this is where Midoriya transitions from being an All Might fanboy to being a hero of his own merits. And yeah he is to Kota, what All Might is to him.

If yall thought this was hype, just wait for the next few episodes! I'm assuming you've maybe already recorded it but in case not I won't spoil. But this is where things really kick of into high gear and we truly see the league of villains. These episodes don't even show all the fights starting.

I think I love the pacing the most, just like you said. They're not afraid to just move on from a fight. They realize that a fight is realistically gonna take maybe 5 minutes each, only going longer if each side is equal in strength or the good guy is losing. It's probably my favorite thing about this show!
