I agree! I hate when reactors have full on conversations, they just end up missing important information and then later they will complain if something isn't explained or they thought there was a plot hole and even will downgrade the movie for it. And I'm always like "no, they answered that but you weren't paying attention," lol.

Marvels "Norse Mythology" is very different to actual Norse Myth

Somebody seriously needs to count the number of times in these videos that Erik repeats something that someone else just said. It's like 75% of the things he says.

Absolutely love Darcy in this movie. I remember reading a book with tales of different mythology and OMG yes, Thor was a straight dick! Oh Sif didn't wanna go out with me or Loki humiliated me with a prank? Let's go bash in some giant skulls.

Lol there's a part in the comics where Thor gets asked about his past and he basically says he was young and stupid. Watching the Destroyer fight made me think of how annoying and tedious fighting it in Marvel Ultimate Alliance, too many steps and puzzles just to get a weapon to kill it.

Norse Mythology is also a part of DC, they just don't focus on it as much.

Allegedly.  Driving back from the jersey shore I floored my pedal. It got stuck and would not stop accelerating. Get to 140 redline and I see cars on road. Pumped the breaks until the throttle stopped and nothing happened. Slowed down pulled over. Lame story but maximum adrenaline. Allegedly

Also yes the Loki show is the best MCU TV show they’ve done so far, BY FAR.

And that’s not to say the MCU aren’t good (personally I’ve enjoyed all of them except Echo, but only because I still haven’t watched it) but man Loki blows them all out of the water.

While this is one of my favorite Marvel movies, there are some aspects of it I hate. XD I feel like a lot of the stuff Loki did, wouldn't have happened if Sif and Heimdall didn't go against his orders to STAY HOME and LEAVE THOR ALONE. Seriously, that's all he asked of them, but they all went against his orders as their king... No wonder he has trust issues to have to stage the Jotun King's death to get brownie points. It didn't help that he was also going through a crisis, finding out he is "a monster" to the Asgard people, that even Odin told of in a poor way to make Loki feel awful in his own skin once he found out what he truly was. And yes, Loki did willingly let himself drop from the Bifrost, believing he was going to die.

I do love Norse Mythology, too, as someone who is also Norwegian, and I wish Marvel kept it a bit closer to the legends here and there, especially how Sleipnir is a thing and that's Loki's child he birthed himself. XD And depending which book you read, Odin is the real villain of the series, while Loki is either a scapegoat character who tends to solve the Asgardian's problems (and the cause of them that he also fixes later), or seen as the Satan-esk role, considering he falls under the "Mother of Monsters" role a lot, too.

Eventually ya'll will have to check out Agents of Shield. The first 2 or 3 seasons follow the movies before they couldn't do that anymore due to the direction the movies take, but all of the seasons are soo good regardless and introduce a character that is an Avenger in some comics, Coulson is in it and a main character. The first season takes place after the first Avengers movie and Iron Man 3. The first season takes a few episodes to really get into it and the story as with most first seasons of new shows, but it's still really good.

Other than names and general appearance\personalities this shares vary little with actual norse mythology loki and thor arent brothers, thors power s don't come from his hammer also he h is not depicted as cut but more like eddie hall worlds strongest man, and while loki is part gaint it's not a frosty one and laufey is not his father but is his mother who is a godess not a gaint. those where just to name a few differences.

Well, since that movie exist in the same universe as Tobey Maguire’s “Spider-Man,” it can be considered as canon.

For me, this is by far the weakest of the Phase 1 marvel movies. Probably the only P1 movie that I actually enjoy less every time I watch it (currently 15 mins in and already kinda over it, hence this comment). Characters feel weak compared to the rest of this phase even with gigachad Loki in the mix, every 3rd or 4th shot is a god damn dutch tilt for some reason, it's kinda a hot mess. I don't hate it, there's only one movie in P1-4 that I skip on rewatch and this isn't it, but man does it have issues.

Petition to watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Sorta Stupid is the perfect channel to  watch it in 2025, because I know they would actually appreciate it. They would find the positives about S1 Ep 1-15 (unlike other reactors), and then explode for the rest of the show!!!

A great fun fact, when Odin snarls at Loki when he's banishing Thor that was completely improvised my Anthony Hopkins and that was Tom Hiddleston's real reaction. They couldn't have gotten a better person to play Odin! And even that, I think that's one of the best things about the MCU as a whole, the casting from all the heroes, villains and side characters have all been perfect, there's all been a few misses.

Depending on the book or story, sources say Loki and Odin are actual brothers, blood brothers, or related by a relative of Odin's having relations with a giant, making Loki half Jotun/Asgardian or the like. Most of the stories aren't 100% consistent, except the ones where Thor and Loki have adventures together as brothers/shield brothers, and even then, you read that Thor has two different mothers depending on the literature, and neither are Frigga.

Well that’s on purpose. The Asgardians are aliens who the Vikings thought were gods and they stayed long enough to give the Vikings their names and teach them a little about their locations and culture but didn’t explain the relationships between gods or how certain things worked so the Vikings made up stuff to fill the gaps.
