Loved this movie. This ghostface felt so intense and more intimidating and the set pieces were great. The core 4 really grew on me by this movie. I love the old cast, but I wasn't even missing Sidney in this one. I'm super bummed we won't get to see where the Sam storyline is going to go. I'm worried the new one will feel unoriginal and repetitive. I hear Kirby, Chad, and Mindy are going to be in the next one too.
you guys should watch the final destination movies if you haven't seen them some are a bit cheesy and not that good but good non the less

I noticed something strange. Samara Weaving plays a character in the opening scene. So kinda fun to see a person dressed up as her character in Ready or Not on the subway later in the movie. Do you think her character, the teacher watched that movie and went " wow that woman looks just like me!"

Yeah i wont lie, this is my least favorite scream movie, it feels more like a generic slasher than a scream movie to me, the convenience store scene perfectly shows that, ghost face being out in public surrounded by people should never happen
To be very clear, Jonathan Majors was let go by talent agencies after the lawsuit was filed and he was arrested, but Disney/Marvel didn't fire him *UNTIL* he was convicted of reckless assault and harassment. the thing you're talking about, where you weren't sure if he was aquitted or the case was dropped, was a formality; after she had already won her original case, despite the conviction, he kept saying he never laid a hand on her, so she sued him for defamation, and later dropped her lawsuit after they settled out of court.
Scream 3 might not have been as good as the others but it gave us 3 of my favorite things in the franchise:
1) Parker Posey as fake Gale Weathers
2) a cameo from Carrie Fisher
3) Gale’s bangs
as kinda bull as Chad surviving that is, imo he deserves it after throwing hands the way he does, very refreshing to see someone go toe to toe the way he does.
If IMDB is correct, a lot of people are coming back for 7. What role they'll all play will be interesting given most were killed off throughout the franchise.
Melissa Berrera (Sam) was fired for referring to Israel as "colonized" land and stating that media only shows the Israeli side. And saying she'll let us deduce for ourselves why they do that (Variety.com).

This movie is amazing! It's a tough fight between Scream 4 and Scream 6 for my number 2 spot (after Scream 1).
To answer your question about Billy in South Park, I assume it’s because Trump and Satan are gay and Billy is an evil killer who’s implied to be in a relationship with Stu. For Satan and Trump, he’d essentially be a gay icon.
Im gonna have the hot take that Melissa Barrera should've been fired for her acting. She's so unconvincing as anything other than a sociopath in either of the movies she was in. Her forehead/eyebrows never move, she barely emotes.
Also, therapist was totally valid. Hes been seeing her for a while and she refuses to talk about herself, and then dumps a psycho confession. (22times plus slitting the throat is not merely self-defense, my dudes). Plus, she has dead shark eyes the entire time. Fire her as a patient ASAP.
Depending on the Walkie-Talkie (I doubt you got the absolute top-of-the-line because those are prohibitively expensive), you are probably getting random feedback from somebody with a much more powerful setup nearby. I used to work at a military/research base with a bunch of radio technicians (I was not one myself nor was I in the military, just a private contractor working with union contractors), and I have heard stories about HAM/CB radio interferences with stuff from all of them. One bought a house for cheap from an old friend who swore his house was haunted because he could hear voices at night, and when the radio technician moved in he heard the same voices. Turns out the surround-sound speaker system installed in the master bedroom (including a speaker under the bed) was picking up stray signals from the CB enthusiast two streets over. So maybe see if there's any big radio towers nearby, especially smaller towers that might be something a hobbyist would use. You're probably just getting feedback from someone else's feed when the conditions are just right.

I am an Israeli, and honestly I don’t even know what she said but they meet to separate ‘’real life problems’’ from movies, like its actually makes me mad that they did that just because they’re scared that I guess people would be mad tho no one would cancel the movie just because of what an actor think.

It's BS that they didn't want to pay Neve Campbell a fair amount for this one but honestly, from a story perspective, I think this movie is improved by Sidney's absence. There really isn't anywhere else to go with her character (which is why 7 really reeks of desperation) and I feel like 6 really let the new characters breathe in a way that 5 didn't because we had to spend so much time with the legacy characters.
I agree. I love the original trio, but it gets repetitive and unrealistic to have it go on indefinitely for them. I felt like 6 was a breath of fresh air. 6 is my favorite after 1 for the intensity of the killer and set pieces. I also loved having it in a big city with people around. I thought that made it scarier that the killer was so brazen. Are we supposed to have Sidney go up against ghost face until she's in her 70s?
Fun fact: the woman at the bar in the beginning wearing the yellow dress, is Hugo Weaving's nephew. Hugo Weaving played Red Skull and Megatron from the first 3 Michael Bay Transformer films

Melissa Barrera and Radio Silence did another movie (Abigail) and are still friends. But yeah, Spyglass fired her, and the whole crew didn’t take that lightly. All core four gave “excuses” to drop the movie. Spyglass said she said something “anti-Semitic,” while most people believe she didn’t and back it up with proof. Along with that, there are rumors that these firings were to make room for Spyglass' budget to hire Neve Campbell, but she says this is false.
Back to the anti-Semitic part: Melissa called for a ceasefire, and yes, she was indeed pro-Gaza. But like you guys said, firings like these suck. Not letting people be themselves and firing them for their opinion sucks, whether it's a right or wrong one.
On another note, I enjoyed this movie with you guys so much! You were all great, and you caught so much that I didn’t. And of course, Sean being right about Quinn was awesome: I was like, “How is he doing this?” lol. Great reaction as always <3
It is common if people criticize what Israel is doing to Gaza for them to call it antisemitic. They are spinning the media. If anyone speaks out against killing innocent people in Gaza often Israeli leaders and their supporters say that person is being antisemitic. This was happening a lot when the war with Gaza first started. Quite a few celebrities that spoke out were being called antisemitic. What Melissa said was not antisemitic or problematic. Unless you support mass violence against innocent people. In my opinion I was really excited to see where the Sam storyline was going and I think they ruined it by recasting and moving backwards. And yes, this was the highest grossing Scream sequel, so super stupid.
Those rumors are so weird to me. This movie grossed more than Scream 3 4 and 5 and it did that without Neve Campbell. It wouldn't make any sense to go through all this controversy to hire her back when this movie proved the franchise doesn't need her to make a profit at this point.

as a huge fan of Scream, i can't even get myself to be excited for the 7th after the unjust firing of Melissa Barrera. literally set up a whole new core cast just to ruin its entire legacy with one stupid decision. I love Matthew Lilard, but its clear by this that they are just pulling at anything fan service-wise to throw at the audience in hopes we forget :/
The money fallout from Spyglass’ idiocy in firing Melissa Barrera is yet to be determined obviously (although given how well these new movies did I wouldn’t hold my breath on 7 doing great given that it’s not continuing the story of 5 and 6) but just from a creative/storytelling standpoint, it’s something that will be studied in a “what not to do with your franchise” movie making class. Scream is often held up as the most consistently good horror franchise, even at its weakest it’s not even bad and still miles ahead of some of the others. And it even continued into our current reboot-obsessed era, it’s the rare series that managed to successfully pass the torch and win over both a new generation and a lot of the older. This movie in particular solidified the Core 4 as just as lovable and compelling as the original trio, to the point where they could have made a handful more of movies just about them. And Spyglass just threw that all away like it was nothing.
IDK bringing back neve campbell gets alot of the audience, and according to interviews they are aiming to go back to what wes craven had the movies be with the first few
In addition to Ready or Not you guys should check out Abigail (2024). Same directors as this and RoN, also stars Melissa Barrera and it's just a total blast. DON'T watch any trailers though, go in knowing as little as possible.

I know it’s a long shot but yo should check out the scream tv series (I will want it did finish on a cliffhanger BUTT it’s still worth the watch!)

Easily the most enjoyable version of Ghostface since the first film.
Billy, we have officially made history on this channel...this is the first long horror franchise that we actually finished here on Sorta Stupid! (Until Scream 7 releases, that is.)
