   Bit of a mistake wiping the prints on the gun and the knife. Now it looks odd that one killer was stabbed while the other was shot but the weapons have no prints on them.

   Also can I just point out Perkins gets a radio call about a potential problem and decides to prank his partner getting them both killed.

   So, for me this is my least favorite of the Scream franchise. I know technically 3 is worse but I find that one so entertaining and fun, much more then this. And I don't hate or even dislike it, it's honestly just fine for me. The kills are pretty good, especially Olivia's and I love the Kirby character, her listing all the remakes was great. It's probably the highlight of the movie for me. And I know she has a lot of fans, most people even calling her the best ghostface but I can't stand Jill and think she's the worst. Not only did I think it was her pretty early one but I didn't like her before the the reveal and she never got better afterwards. I thought they were trying way too hard to make her the new Sydney but she was nowhere near as likable, she was whiny and just a brat the whole time. And I'm sorry but she has got to be the most unintimadating of any of the ghostface killers. The only scene I did like was when she beat herself up, other then that though I never brought she was going to beat Sydney, even when they faked us at first. I thought her motive was so boring and tired. I didn't really like Charlie either, I also found him to be boring and nonthreatening but I did like his motive. It wasn't clever or anything but his has felt like a more realistic motive and that was he thought he would get the girl. There are dozens of real crimes where someone has killed just so they could impress the girl or guy. But again, that's just me.

      I think Jill being set up as the new Sidney but being significantly less interesting/likable is the point though. This movie is critiquing the idea of lazy/cash grab remakes/reboots and what's lazier than just giving us a younger, blander version of the original character we all love? And post-reveal I think her being whiny and bratty works perfectly because she IS an entitled brat. She feels entitled to be the new Sidney without understanding anything about who Sidney is and what makes her special.

   The scream movies are always good. I don't write the rules. Halloween and Friday the 13th however. Their continuous sequels really hurt my soul.

    To me, this will always be the best Scream after the original and I still don’t think it fully gets the credit it deserves. People talk about how ahead of its time this movie is in terms of what it’s saying about social media which is absolutely true but it was also ahead of its time in that it basically deconstructed the nostalgia bait that is the modern franchise reboot. We’re living in an age where pretty much every major franchise is getting rebooted but so often it’s just done as more of an extension of IP than any genuine desire to tell new stories. Legacy characters are brought back and dispatched just so we can follow a new group of characters but a lot of the time those characters don’t get to be anything more than “the new versions” of the original characters. They HAVE to be related to or remind us of who came before, they don’t get to be their own people. And often the stories told about them are just copy and paste of the older movies. Scream 4 is a middle finger to that. When this movie came out in 2011, everyone thought it was going to be the franchise reboot. The teens in this are all set up as the new versions of Sidney, Billy, Randy, Tatum etc. And it just seemed like they were going to take over the franchise so we could keep making more movies. But then, the reveal of Jill as the killer happens and the whole movie flips and becomes the anti reboot. Jill feels entitled to be the new protagonist BECAUSE she’s younger and BECAUSE she’s related to Sidney. (And the casting of Emma Roberts is a nice meta touch). She’s like a stand in for studio executives: she wants to restart the franchise solely for fame and profit. It’s the perfect condemnation of how lazy these kind of reboots are, ones we’re still getting over 14 years after this movie came out. This movie feels like a joke on the audience but in the best way. The Scream series always had something to say and Scream 4 is like “There is nothing more to say.” The intro with all the fake out Stab openings fits this perfectly, it’s what franchises become when they go on too long, just relying on cheap gimmicks to stay afloat.

    It’s also a great reinforcement of how different Scream is from a lot of slasher series because, in those, the killer is the central recurring character whereas in Scream, it’s the heroes. It was always about Sidney first and foremost and to have her take down the villain who wanted to replace her and by extension make Scream just like any other slasher series, is so poetic. And even more so by the fact that Jill is like a warped mirror version of Sidney; Sidney never wanted to be famous, she only got that way by surviving what her loved ones didn’t but it never broke her and she devoted her life to helping other people. By contrast, all Jill wants is to be famous and she’s willing to sacrifice anyone and everyone in her life to get it. She’s the perfect “Final Boss” for Sidney to face off against.

    I agree, Boom should DEFINITELY show introduce them to The Thing. One of my personal favs, especially the ending that just leaves you saying "WTF?"

    Oooh Boy, can't wait for Scream 5 & 6. Especially 5, y'alls reactions will be great.

    But let's just say , that the Scream 5 killers are some bitches.

    Then again, all Scream killers are some whiny, entitled bitches who make their grievances everyone else's problem. And I said as much in my Discord group. But Scream 3-5 ones might just take the cake
