The Trex being able to stealth being the raft was a litte silly like its a trex
at first I thought he sucked too, turns out, he's not bad
The greatest part about the design of the D Rex is that its just a Rancor from Star Wars
So I think my overall take with this film is that it is an improvement over dominion and fallen kingdom, and does delivers on what it promises as far as having new actors, a new director, and trying to have a different vibe. However, I think the critics aren't wrong in their rating. As their criticism doesn't come from over analyzing everything but rather from the fact that this movie is just yet another basic blockbuster that may deliver on some thrills but will likely be forgotten or seen as mid-tier over time.
People don't just show up to a Jurassic Park movie to see dinosaurs chasing people, they also may enjoy having interesting characters, a smart script, and exploring themes about playing God, trying to control nature etc. Basically everything that made the first Jurassic Park movie an instant classic that none of the sequels have topped (though I will admit some of the new characters here are interesting enough). In addition, even if people only come to see the dinosaur thrills that can still get stale after awhile if these films keep doing the whole: "we go to an island. We hit a big Dino moment, an awe and wonder moment, a small dino moment, and then big dino climax" formula.
Lastly, I will say that while they do lay it on a bit too thick at first I do appreciate them not making the boyfriend too much of an a-hole or the teenage daughter too much of a brat as I greatly feared that we were gonna do the barebones "she is dating a guy that she can't see is no good and is seemingly trying to spite her father" plot and we thankfully didn't lol. I also think it was missed opportunity to not do a romance between Scar Jo and the scientist, as it feels like yet another instant where modern Hollywood feels the need to omit that despite the actors having enough chemistry and moments together 🤔.
Overall this movie is decent and well-maid but not all that spectacular, my new ranking would be:
1. Jurassic Park
2.Jurassic World
3.Jurassic Park 3
4. Jurassic World Rebirth
5. The lost world
6. fallen kingdom
7. dominion
Not enough dino on dino violence. But not bad
At 01:56:53 Sean/boom asks how many rounds are in the mag that Scar Jo is shooting. They used a Glock 17 and shot exactly 17 rounds before the gun was empty (Glock 17s have a standard 17 round mag)
Yeah the ads were everywhere before this 😂 I usually see stuff on tiktok or ads during shows
Daario Nahares jumpscare
The bitrate apple uses for streaming is higher than other services so that’s why it looks better
This was awesome! Loved it!
The only jurassic world movie I liked was fallen Kingdom the rest were meh Imo
There is a theory that the next movie will be a prequel to this one and it will go into more detail about the creatures on the island
Spoilers but in the original script for the movie. The Drex was suppose to fight the Trex and brother killed.
Also Duncan was suppose to die as well
Why did they change it, I wonder 🤔?
You guys should react to the all the Rocky and Creed movies before the next creed comes out in like 2 years
I thought this had potential, but I wished that they focused more on the classic dinosaurs, rather than the new mutants. The best scenes were the non mutant dinosaurs, and I did like that they behaved like actual animals. Like the T-Rex not really going after them properly because it had just eaten and was sleepy. They spent far too much time on the mutants, and the one mutant that I was actually interested in, the one at the end, only had a few minutes.
Again, it had potential and there were parts I really liked. But I think it suffered due to focusing on the wrong things, and clumsy writing. Also, why take Dolores, when they made a point the whole film, about how the dinosaurs weren't surviving in that climate.
I also don't like that every film, they make a point of how people are bored with dinosaurs and want something new and exciting. And I get the idea, but in real life, people still go to safari parks etc, to see animals. And we still go and see the films, because they have dinosaurs in them. The first Jurassic Park will always be my favourite, and it's the best written. But I also love Jurassic Park 3, because it was ridiculous and fun, but still had great scenes with dinosaurs. Both films, felt like they had stakes, where as this one, pretty much everyone survived.
Real life zoos get new animals to get more people to come back for something interesting. It’s pretty realistic.
Ok but no one is saying that they are bored with real animals, so people likely would say that about Dinosaurs 🤔.
I get you but there's something important to point out: in the movie's universe there are surely many Zoo's and Safaris (just like in ours) but there's only 1 with dinosaurs. From a writing perspective it makes sense that they bring up the "people will be bored with the same dinosaurs" idea, they have to keep things interesting and new.
And yes, the same applies to many people in the real world, if the movies contain just the old regular dinosaurs, they would not attract as many people as they could (still a lot, yes, but not as much as possible from a marketing perspective). And it's great that your favorite one is the first one, it is mine too, but that's just a cold fact, the movies are about dinos and they have to come up with new interesting creatures to get people attention in teasers and trailers.
If it's the same old dinos, then they would have to change the dynamic around them but that would be too risky (at least this is what I think they think...) and they just decided to go for the same basic premise for all 7 movies: things are going ok and everything is secure, and suddenly they have to run from dinos to be alive.
True. I don't have a problem with them having new ideas, like I said I thought the D-Rex at the end was a cool idea, I just wish we got to see more of it. And that the scenes with the classic dinosaurs weren't so rushed. I was being a bit harsh and I agree with your points. At the end of the day, I just love a good dinosaur film, so as long as there's dinosaurs and it's entertaining, then I'm happy.
A interesting fact is that this film was directed by Gareth Edwards who did Rogue One & Godzilla (2014) which is the start of the Monsterverse. Since Bree likes dinosaurs, maybe she’ll enjoy Godzilla since he’s a dinosaur like creature. Here’s hoping for Monsterverse videos at some point. :)
A full reaction to the monster verse films would be so dope. Love those movies (until Godzilla vs Kong, then they all went to shit)
nah, they got better since Godzilla vs Kong
So, I did really like this one. It was far better then Dominion for sure. The cast is great, Duncan has got to be one of my favorite overall characters in the Jurassic Park/World now. I liked that there were genuine suspenseful moments and that grocery scene felt very similar to the kitchen scene in the first movie. The boat scene is also great, I loved seeing the Mosasaurus more and the fact that the Spinosaurus helped it hunt and the way they revealed the dinosaurs was also very clever. You kind of have to go back and re-watch it to notice some of them and I always love when movies do that. And even though I had issues with it, I loved seeing the T-Rex swim, it was in the book and I'm pretty sure they wanted to do it in the first film but didn't know how to fit it in there.
But, there were quite a few things I didn't care for. That beginning was so dumb to me, to have a wrapper shut down your whole system was ridiculous. I didn't like when they first played the Jurassic Park theme, it was very misplaced to me, it just felt manipulative as apposed to meaningful. The first time to play it should have been when they saw the Titanosaurus. It was a beautiful moment, especially for Loomis' character and it would have meant so much more if we didn't hear it already. I thought there would have been more of a romance between Zora and Loomis, but not really. There were a few moments here or there, but I honestly thought she had more chemistry with Duncan. The daughter deflating the raft right in front of the T-Rex was unbelievably dumb. There was literally no reason to do it at that moment, put it in the water and take it over on the other side, leave the area and then deflate it. And there is no way that raft would not being damaged, I didn't mind it was still usable but to not even have a scratch on it when it was literally in the T-Rex mouth I didn't buy. And I was not okay with taking Delores at the end. First, your taking her away from her natural habitat, potentially away from her parents and the film established early on that the dinosaurs were dying out and couldn't survive in the natural world, they had to go to certain areas to survive and clearly that was the Island. And other then her being very cute she was useless, if you took her out you wouldn't miss a thing. I honestly thought we would get a payoff, maybe her parents come and help save the day, but no they didn't even do that. Lastly, I didn't really care for the design of the new baddie, some things about it were cool, like all the arms and such but it felt more like a alien monster then a dinosaur. And I know they are supposed to be mutants, except I thought they designed the other ones to still look like dinosaurs but not as much with that one. But even with all the faults I still really liked it.
I pretty much agree with everything you're saying. The snickers thing was very dumb, sco jo did have good chemistry with both men so it's a shame they didn't bother with a romance with either, and yeah dolores is there to sell toys and plushies, and instead of her parents coming in I thoughts she was gonna have some connection to the big dino at the end or something 🤔.
Really hope you do Wicked soon! Jonathan Bailey's best performance IMO
i loveddd this movies its crazy for its own movie and still has its same things with the other movies
Glad you guys used Apple TV. I've found they have the best quality too!
WAS THAT A FUCKING RANCOR??!!
path of titans is legit the open world dino game you're asking for lol
The isle is better
As someone who was obsessed with the isle I can say it’s definitely not better anymore, once they fix the grouping situation and servers then it might be a good game again, but otherwise to me it’s just a pretty game with people who are too serious and murder crazy
Fun Fact: this movie was directed by Gareth Edwards, who also directed on of the best Star Wars movies Rogue One
There is actually a jurassic park kids show that is canon on Netflix that is legitimately better than most of the movies,

Nah take a shot every time Ruff says “I mean”
I don't really want alcohol poisoning though, 😂
A lot of the foreshadowing for Kincaid was there because he originally had a different ending but it didn't go down well with test audiences so they did a little reshoot to add at the end.
If the dinosaurs in the Jurassic series have taught me anything…“You’re not you when you’re hungry!”
I can just imagine Delores bringing back homies to surround the older sister and paw at her like cats, just gentle pats.
watched it the other day. the mutated dino at the end was pretty cool. but the film itself was average, at least for me. pretty forgettable
Yeah, most people (and I) agree, but then they also say that this was a movie made just to be fun and thrilling and that the pieces are there for a future project to actually makes sense story wise.
So in regards to when you see name brand things in movies (like Snickers here in the beginning) it's not the movie that pays the company but the other way around. The company reached out to the studio and asks if their product can be placed in the movie, they pay the movie studio for this in the hopes that people will go out and buy their product. In the movie industry it's called "product placement" and it garners a big sum for movie studios.
Once upon a time I believe it was the other way around, but then E.T. came along and made recess pieces a hit and that started this practice 🤔.
Ah, yeah I didn't know that. Interesting fact.
I’m surprised avid movie watchers like them don’t know this lol.
I saw this in theaters about a week ago, it started a little slow but I liked it after, I started to not feel well while watching it and I went out and smoked and came back into the movie theater and it was better so maybe that was it
