Love the Ice Age movies! Please keep watching them! If only to watch Scrat and his nut. It's a running gag that continues for all the movies and boy do they get creative. The last one wasn't as popular but the cast for all the movies is amazing! There was even Ps2 games for the 1st 3 movies (that I know of ) that were my childhood!
I think the last movie didnt do so well and that's why ice age went away for awhile until the new one thats being worked on not surprised though when studios milk the hell out of a series.
so fun fact (this one is for Eric) So there's been multiple ice ages throughout history. They tend to last a few million years and funny enough we're actually currently still in one. All of human history from now way back to when we discovered FARMING has all been during a 'warm period'. I don't know when it'll happen, but if the Earth stays on it's natural cycle the ice'll come back in a few dozen thousand years.
I mean, assuming we don't fuck that cycle up, anyway.
The first three are definitely worth watching, but the series drops off after that and just becomes enjoyable sequels for those that love the series and want to see the story continue.

Favorite is the 3rd one hands down! Nr 2 was amazing, 4 also was good in my opinion, nr 5 was oook...? Not as fun, but still enyojable for sure
Man, haven't seen this movie in a good 15 years. I didn't remember it looking like old PS2 games, and I didn't remember much of the story at all. I've seen the second movie a bunch of times, and the third one once, I think? But none of the ones after that. I think I remember the second movie having a special minisode about the squirrel, maybe it's that 7 minutes one that Ruff read about.
It's believed that at the start of the movie, Manny is traveling opposite of the migration to off himself after his wife and child died. Then he's at the edge of the cliff and Sid interrupts him. So, imagine how him seeing the woman and baby on the river made him freeze.
Really hope ya'll continue this franchise.

The next ones are pretty good. For me 2 is my favorite, then 4, then 1, then 3 and then I don't remember 5, but I think I've seen it.

Sean’s right. You can absolutely cook acorns to be more palatable. You have the boil the acorns and replace the water every so often until the water you pour out is completely clear. This will help with the bitter taste. Afterwards, you can prepare the nuts however you like

I'm sure someone else said this already, but initially Diego was supposed to stay dead, but test screenings with kids had them all burst into tears, so they decided to have him live.
First 3 are fun,everything afterwards is very ehhh

Unfortunately I haven't watched all Ice Age movies. I've seen the first 3 for sure and maybe a little bit of the 4th one. I think my favourite out of the ones I've watched is the 3rd one. But I haven't seen it for years so I dunno if it's as good as I remember.
I recommend you guys check out another movie by BlueSky called "Rio" it's really fun.

Kids movie where the heroes just let the mother float away to her death . . . we don't get films like this much these days.
The woman had already died the second she felt the baby was safe, her dead body is what floated away. Plus, they're unfortunately still animals; their curiosity of the baby would be distracting for a long time for them.
I did not realize there was a 7th film coming out, let alone that the Buck Wild film was considered the sixth installment. Honestly for me this first one is the best. Not to say it all goes down hill or anything, but the laidback tone and dramatic weight and themes of this film get lost as the movies go one and they instead just become silly kid-movie adventures.
In a way this franchise is similar to the Pirates of the Caribbeans or Bay Transformers films in that the first is considered the best and it's a bit hit or miss after that 🤔.
1-3 are good, but 4 is hit or miss; I personally like it and think if you guys like the 3rd you'll like the 4th.
This movie is how I imagine it would go if me and my two brothers had to babysit

I really like that scene with Sid trying to climb the mountain to take the baby back because it showcases what type of person Manny is. He may hate Sid at this point and have no real care for the baby but he’s not the type of person to see someone weaker than him in danger and not do anything. He says he’s staying just to see the train wreck of Sid climbing the mountain but he’s actually there to make sure neither he or the baby gets hurt. He could totally walk away and let the Darwin Awards have their winner but he can’t bring himself to, just like with Sid and the rhinos. The moment Diego is introduced, Manny says he’ll help Sid return the baby because he knows that both Sid and the baby would never make the journey while Diego is a factor.
Loved this reaction and love this movie! I know I've seen maybe 4 or 5 of them all were pretty good still and funny! but it's up you you guys if you want to watch them or not!
I only watched the first 3 Ice Age movies after that is new territory for me and I didn’t even know they were currently in the makes of a 7th movie.
Nah Cars 1 is definitely better than Cars 2 and Cars 3 is better than Cars 1 and at least Cars 1 and Cars 3 were focused on racing while Cars 2 was focused on some random ass spy shit being the main focus with the racing feeling like it was just there.
though i do think they would've enjoyed it no matter what, the hatebase for Cars 2 really self-sabotaged by making them expect the worst movie on the planet lol
I completely agree, it took my a while to watch Cars 3 because I expected it to be like Cars 2.

Fun fact- in the original test screenings Diego actually died, but it made the kids so sad that they ended up changing it.
Before a Billy beats me to it, Diego was originally supposed to die but they rewrote his death cause during the test audiences (children) started crying a lot. So they rewrote it so he survives

It did not register to me as a child how dark this movie is. Manny watched his wife and child get slaughtered in front of him. That's why he wasn't going south. He wanted to die. He was trying to kill himself. But he found purpose in protecting this baby human. Even though humans took everything from him... what the fuck.

The sloth would be bigger if it was actually accurate to when this movie was set in.
Ruff, Sabretooths are believed to have rare use for their teeth when it came to fighting. So Diego having bigger teeth didn't mean he would win. They still most likely relied on claws and strength for fighting.

ice age is good i loved the first one is my childhood movie but i do like the first 3 the other 2 movie werent bad. I didnt even know they had another one coming out in 2027 that was news to me. But in all the movies are childhood movies for me and the only movies I know almost everything about them and remember all the lines (mostly the first move but still). They have a special place in my heart.
Other than that the comments saying it but yeah the ice cave with all the stuff in the ice like fish, dinosaur and etc it was a foreshadow to the other movies in order.

It’s implied Manny is the dad mammoth in the painting. That’s why seeing the baby next to the baby mammoth’s painting brings him to tears- it reminds him of his child.

My favorite is the 2nd one. I personally think that the first 4 are very fun to watch and good movies. The 2nd and 3rd are both better than this one too. 4 and 5 are good but they are the point where they are running out of plot ideas and kinda forcing it tbh.
