   So the statues on buildings are called grotesques and are purely decroative. Gargoyles are grotesques that have waterspouts to keep rainwater off the building. So the dragon sculptures are grotesques and theorietically could be gargoyles if they channel rainwater.

    I loved this remake. Best one I've ever seen. I prefer the original. I did like them giving more backstory to Snoutlout, with his father. Astrid I felt like had more lines in this, not by much but it added a little more depth to her. The only problem I have is sometimes the costumes felt like costumes.

    Did you know that Gerald Butler cried when he saw it for the first time and the costume he wears weighs is 90 lbs.

    Ruff got me curious so I looked into it, apparently statues on buildings like gargoyles but that aren't them are called Grotesques. Also I didn't know this but apparently Gargoyles usually have some kind of water spout in them to help divert rain water from buildings whereas Grotesques are purely decorative. The more you know.

    It was pretty good, although that's cause the original was good and this was almost 1 to 1. There were some new scenes and new plot points about characters and the cut what's in my opinion a very important scene with hiccup and toothless hanging out with the tiny dragons and hiccup realizing everything they new about dragons was wrong and that they're not fire proof on the inside.

    I saw this movie in theaters and was not prepared for the Red Death. I can’t wait to see the next movie.

    8/10 - main issue is the acting can be spotty and a major scene was removed.
