The second one is literally the best one, don't skip that. I dislike that you guys do that so much. You abandon good stuff just because its not getting views fast enough. I'm sorry if this comes off as rude, but Ruff is that guy that goes based off what other people say and not by giving stuff a chance. The point of reactions are to watch things you don't know if you'll like, and having a conversation about what you thought.
Even though this film still holds up as a holiday classic, the one thing that I get people still dislike is the mean-spiritedness of the family.
I know plenty of people will argue that it captures what being in a big family is like and all that, but again if people dislike that in real life then obviously they are not gonna like seeing that in a film with characters we are supposed to like.
They could have scaled the meanness back a bit and had maybe more sincere moments at the beginning. Also, lines like Kevin calling his mom dummy is uncessary. Most parents irl don't put up with that, and it's especially wrong-headed to put that there to get a big ooh from the audience 🤔.
You guys need to watch the John Candy movie Uncle Buck, it's hilarious and also has Macaulay Culkin.
You can still get $10 pizzas if you go for the basic quality shit. I mean if i go to a mom and pop ppace and want a good home made pizza im paying like twice that but dominos does $10 large pizza deals on the regular. And if ur feeding that many people you aint going with the good shit, ur ordering bulk.
The second one is definitely worth the watch. I thought it was funnier and had more of an adventurous aspect to it being placed in New York. Was my favorite of the two growing up.
I heard that John Candy's story to the Mom in the back of the truck on the ride home, was ad libbed on the spot and that he just made it up xD. As an aside, in the world of 'new' Christmas music, I love "Christmas Lights' by Coldplay. Genuinely lovely.
At least watch the 2nd one. The first two Home Alone's are the classic ones. After that, ehhh take 'em or leave 'em. But y'all have to at least watch the second Home Aone!

I read somewhere (not sure if true) that Macaulay Culkin has expressed interest in returning to the Home Alone Franchise, reprising his role as a grown up Kevin McCallister, who ends up leaving his son home alone.
The brother you guys were talking about in at the start is in a movie that is one of my favorite movies of all time and it's called Blue Ruin. Just wanting to say for anyone reading comments you should check out that movie very underrated.

I believe that mrs mcallister was a fashion designer which is why theres the mannequin and the dad did something in finance, which is why they're rich

I agree with most of the comments. Watch the 2nd one. But I also recommend the 3rd as well. I did grow up with it, but it's still fun. However, 4 (which is supposed to be Kevin again, just different actors. They even have Marv but played by French Stewart for some fucking reason) is absolute garbage. Don't bother past 3.

A lot of child actors are often forced into it by their parents and that’s why they don’t continue with it later. The parents just want the money and don’t care about what their child wants. (Read/listen to Jennette McCurdy’s book “I’m Happy My Mom Died” to hear how terrible being a child actor actually is.
This is such a tightly scripted movie. Every single thing that comes into play in the back half of the movie is set up in the first, and most before the family even leaves the house, right down to the ornaments he was making with the dad's fish hooks.
The 3rd one they did fantastic on actually, they changed the kids name (it's Alex) and make him sick from school instead of left home alone...with Russian Spies coming in to get a microchip stolen from the NSA they hid in a toy to get through TSA that was accidentally switched at the airport and they tracked it to his house
I'm going to assume you'll do the sequel but you should also do the third one because it's also good doesn't have the charm the first two do but it's good enough and has Scarlett Johansson in it.

FUN FACTS: 1. The girl in the picture is actually the Art Director for the film because Chris Columbus didn't want to hurt an a real girl's feelings.
2. Daniel Stern's scream during the spider scene was from a different take without the spider on his face added after filming because they couldn't risk scaring the tarantula. So poor Daniel, who is terrified of spiders, had to silently endure the entire scene. 😭

One of the craziest things to me about this movie is that THE ENTIRELY FAMILY WAS SITTING IN COACH! Big, plush seats with leg room, and FREE CHAMPAIGNE, was considered coach back in the 90s.

Re: the dad not staying at the airport - I think the thing you’re forgetting is that no one had cell phones. The only way they could receive any calls back from the neighbors, police, or even Kevin himself would be to be at their brother’s apartment where there was a phone they could use for incoming and outgoing calls.
People do tend to forget that in the old days we didn't have a phone on us at all times.
I recommend watching the second home alone it’s the only one that’s worth watching cause the other sequels suck
Please watch 2nd one, 3rd is also pretty great. You can stop after that cause they definitely drop in quality afterwards but 2 and 3 are worth a watch.
