Because Frankenweenie is a remake of an extremely obscure short film that Tim Burton made in the 80s and Flubber doesn’t have the same name as the original. The original is called The Absent-Minded Professor.

I have watched this since probably as late as 2000, and I'm surprised at how well it holds up...and doesn't. Half of it holds up, at least. The effects are legitimately great, especially for the time, and the slapstick is even funnier than I remember. The romance...am I the only one who doesn't like Sara? To be fair, I feel that my dislike for her stems from the other thing about this movie that has REALLY not aged well...mental health awareness. This guy clearly needs help with both his memory and his extreme degree of hyperfixation, yet nobody seems to be trying to help him except Weebo. The treatment of mental health is clearly stuck in 90's, which is leftover from the 60's, since this is actually a remake of a 1961 movie called "The Absent Minded Professor." Glad I watched this with you guys, so I can know how it at least partly holds up really well.

Man I would love for them to react to speed racer 2008 movie, or at least SpongeBob out of water because it doesn't really require you to be caught up in SpongeBob to enjoy it.

This was a fun movie. I'm not gonna lie though, I feel like Sara's forgiveness was way too rushed. Like I feel like there needed to be more. Especially after being stood up at the alter 3 times. THREE TIMES!!!! I also feel like there were other parts I felt were a little rushed like the villains' defeat. Like did they get arrested, did they run away. did they go into hiding? The defeat was a fun watch though. Just kind of ended abruptly in my opinion. My other complaint is that I feel like we didn't see much of Flubber. I kinda wish we saw more.
Also RIP Weebo. I feel bad for not trusting you the beginning of the movie.
