I have a nostalgia for these movies since I watched them when I was a kid, but these aren't the best superhero movies or the best depiction of the Fantastic Four. This is still better than the Fantastic 4 movie with Michael B. Jordan though. I love that you guys are watching all these superhero movies, even some of the older ones from before the MCU. I hate how in this movie Sue was made to strip when she turned invisible, she can turn clothes invisible with her in the comics. Also, these people are supposed be a family not just a team and they don't really feel like it. I liked your guys reaction to this. I can't wait to see your reaction to the sequel, I remember liking it more than this one.
even the way they described it should've meant that her clothes went invisible, they say that she can bend light around herself and that makes her seem invisible, so like why would it only bend around her skin and not her clothes.

You know what’s crazy is I watched this 20 years ago and was a decent fan and had no idea that Alicia Ben’s girlfriend was blind. Totally went over my head, but it makes sense. I thought she was just interested in the big hunk of rock, which I guess still stands.

I love how Victor just goes "well I'm angry, I've got super powers, and my last name is Doom, everyone dies", no hesitation, just fully embracing the villainy from the start.
So from my surface level Comic knowledge im pretty sure this is usually how they all get their power except doom isn't supposed to be there doom usually gets his powers from a mix of science and magic
I like the sequel more than the original for these. The newer one with Michael B Jordan was straight garage lol. I actually forgot about it until you guys brought it up. It was so bad I erased it from my memory lol

The new one is absolutely the best. It took 4 tries(Not Counting the unreleased 1996 one)to get the Family dynamic right. It also has an amazing set design, as its set in the Retro future, and away from the MCU universe, so it FEELS like its own thing. One of the best MCU movies to come out in while!

doom is in rivals but not as a playable character, he is the main villain of the game lore and the reason why heroes are fighting each other. Idk if they ever bring him in as a playable character but we will def see him more, they'll probably have Doom maps and skins when the avengers movie comes out.

I figured y'all would like this, and it does seem like people who grew with it often do like it. However, I found this film and it's sequel to be just ok . I have fond memories of seeing them both in theatres but the don't really hold up. This one lacks a good story and doesn't capture the heartfelt family dynamic it's suppose too outside of them bickering.
The cast I always thought was good with the exception of Jessica Alba as her acting wasn't always that great and they didn't give her much of a character to work with. The cgi was always the worst part even for 2005, and looking back on it the greenscreen is really not that good in some places. Also, most fans don't like Dr Doom's portrayal in this. The look and actor is fine for the role imo, but I don't know why they gave him electrical powers here. He's a far cry from the scientist/sorcerer/dictator that he usually is in the comics. Overall, I think the main misstep was having Tim Story direct this. He's not a bad director or anything but he's mostly known for doing comedies which may explain the tone of this film 🤔.

The origin is mostly comic accurate, they are pretty much always scientists who get their powers in a space mission, but Doom isn't a part of that, he uses technology and magic for his powers not the electro metal stuff he gets in these.

Honestly, if you want to see Captain America being even more of a dick, watch knives out, with daniel craig. Fun whodunit and get to see a whole new side to Chris Evens.
He's also great in The Losers, which is also a comic book movie. I absolutely love it, it's so much fun.
I know at the time of the Sequel and after people hated the Silver Surfer movie including my brother but I loved it personally!
I love both this movie and the sequel! I never saw the 2015 F4! I had friends go and see it and they said it was horrible! And I also recall the Director for that movie publicly saying that! Which was a thing for a director to say to the viewing audience!
This movie was so cool to me as a kid, now as an adult though it's kinda meh for a superhero movie and BAD for a F4 adaptation. The second one is still a guilty pleasure though.

Fantastic Four: First Steps is THE BEST F4 movie. Period.
But this movie and the sequel are just so damn fun. They’re not great, but they aren’t bad. They’re enjoyably mid.
Watched first steps day one. And man it was good. The last time I was in and watched a marvel movie was multiverse of madness. Then i sorta stopped, but i know I'll watch the next spiderman coming out next year

So the thing about Doom, is he does everything to spite Reed. At least in the comics. He blamed Reed for his face getting melted by his mask even tho he did it himself. When Sue was having problems giving birth, he would only perform the operation himself if he got to choose the baby’s name so that Reed had to raise a kid personally named by Doom (by the way, he also became a godfather to the kid and loves it with all his heart. It’s like Miles Morales dad and Uncle Aaron kinda) he is basically a D1 hater. Not like Alex Luthor, or Reverse Flash, but more like petty hate instead of vitriolic hate

so in the comics doom is a eastern european nations ruler whos a master of tech and magic( he was even sorceror supreme for awhile), he doesnt have explictly electromagnetic powers like he does in the 2000s movies
There is a comic book moment where either the god Of Honesty or some sort of god gave Dr. DOOM a test. The test was either suffer in enternal damnation or Admit that Mr. Fantastic is a great man. Dr. DOOM then proceeded to laugh and then fall off into damnation willingly. He Past the test because he was honest. Lol
Not many people really know how the Fantastic 4 got their powers because its really not a big part of their story. But i think the cosmic storm is pretty close to what actually happened. I gotta say I watched the new Movie a couple of days ago. Its really good. I really liked it.

Love the pre mcu marvel movies, theyre cheesy and over the top but in such a genuine and likeable way. hope yall check out stuff liek blade, dardevil, the punisher etc alongside the rest of the spiderman movies
Ok, I know Chris Evans gets a lot of praise and screen time for these films as Johnny Storm, but for me, Kerry Washington as Alicia easily is the best part of this movie even for how little screen time she has, but if you look up the deleted scenes there are a couple more scene with her and Ben that show how much chemistry the two actors really had and how much I wish we saw more of them.
