For the subtitles, not everybody speaks perfect English and it helps them understand what's been said a bit better.

  3. Sean

The subtitles are a litteral translation to English of the original Japanese script for the movie. The fact you are noticing such a difference between the subtitles and the English voice acting tells you just how badly the English dub team butchered the original script with their " localization for American audiences"

Aw man, I mean I get why they didn't watch the one with the OG Funimation soundtrack, but the music in that one was so good. Especially the beginning of the movie.

Saiyan tails can grow back when they are still adolescent. Gohan’s grew back after Piccolo removed it. Gohan then transformed using the artificial full moon Vegeta created in order to go Great Ape during the Saiyan Saga. However it’s also important to note that all the DBZ movies exist in their own separate timeline and are non canon to the official Dragon Ball story.

it also doesnt help that after the frieza saga, toriyama forgets about the whole Tail thing.

Also I can’t help but love the end credit soundtrack for this movie some of the Japanese music from these dbz movies just hits hard

The choreography between goku and final form cooler is so goated. I feel like cooler was just flexing after he transformed

The subtitles are accurate to the Japanese script. The dub isn’t. By the way none of the Z movies fit into the timeline of the show properly, except for the Bojack Movie and Wrath of the dragon movie. My headcanon was that in this movie Goku either defeated Frieza in base or fast enough to got to his own ship before the planet blew up.

Yeah no, that actually makes it worse. The Cooler movie had some dope ass rock music, should have watched that version.

You kinda can’t it’s rather rare and i believe was before the remaster release on dvd that was only available on vhs

"Dope ass rock music" that completely tarnishes the actual movie's tone and emotion, maybe. It's a surface-level approach when adapting material, to just add "cool, dope raw" music because it completely misses the fundamental point of the fucking show, a fact that most fans of the Faulconer score, can never hope to comprehend.

Take off that fedora mate. It’s just music if you’re gonna be a puritan at least do it around people who actually give a damn . They definitely don’t give a damn and you shouldn’t either. If you want the og Japanese dub go watch it yourself. The og Funi dub rocks , so did the version with the nu metal. Relax it’s just a show

I can live with sounding gatekeepy. I love Dragon Ball and I love encouraging new fans to give it a try. However, I want said new fans to become accosted to what Dragon Ball and its vibes and themes actually are and not the Americanized version of it. I have no problem with returning fans who enjoy what the Funi dub is, however, acknowledging it's anything other than an unfaithful, failure of an adaptation, is information that should not be withheld from newer fans.

What do you mean yikes the Funi Dub is easily the best dub to watch DBZ in.

The original Japanese version is the best version to watch the DBZ, especially the movies since they were never re-released post-Kai.

Aw darn, still not the original Funimation soundtrack. I mean I get it, licensing and all,, as well as original soundtrack. so it’s hard to get that version. But you’re missing all the heart pumping music from Bruce Falconer/rock music that made DBZ so amazing for us growing up.

Rewatch it with Sean and watch the goat funimation soundtrack version. The licensed soundtrack for coolers revenger is seriously legendary
