What's kind of sad, though, was that Victor really was going to choose Emily and finally have control over something in his life. He was arranged to be married to Victoria, and although he was going to try to get to know her and try to care for her regardless, he didn't choose her. When he meets Emily, yeah, she kind of doesn't give him a choice in the beginning to go with her, but we later see him get to know her instead and care for HER instead. But, when he was going to spend the rest of his (after)life with her, his control over his own life was taken away from him again and he was made to keep on living with Victoria, because Emily didn't find it right that he had to throw his life away for her; but, in my opinion, she was probably the only character here that made him truly happy and know how to live again.

Side note: Victor in "Frankenweenie" may be named Victor because "Frankenweenie" is a retelling of Mary Shelley's novel "Frankenstein". The man who created the Creature from a bunch of dead body parts is named Victor Frankenstein. I'm pretty sure Victor in "Frankenweenie" is named after Victor Frankenstein and that the main lead in "Corpse Bride" shares a first name with Victor in "Frankenweenie" coincidentally.
Edit: I just researched "Frankenweenie" to see if there was a connection only to see that the main character's name is Victor Frankenstein lol It seems to be just a very overt love letter to the original story, but I can't say for sure since I have only seen "Frankenweenie" trailers and not the actual movie. Then again, I think that Tim Burton tried to make a version of "Frankenweenie" in the 1980's, so maybe Victor is named after Shelley's Frankenstein and Corpse Bride's Victor (or vice versa for Corpse Bride since Corpse Bride released in 2005).

Yes let's do FrankenWeenie. I seen that movie a couple of years ago and I still remember almost every scene in the movie. Such a great movie and I love to SeeOhKnee reaction.

Frankenweenie is not connected to Corpse Bride. The full name of the scientist in Frankenstein is Victor Frankenstein. Not the same Victor as Corpse Bride. Also Sparky isn’t the name of the dog in Corpse Bride. His name is Scraps.

Another sad aspect of the movie, she was left for dead. Not killed. She was buried in a shallow grave, and woke up while buried. That's why her arm was sticking out of the ground. She tried to claw herself out of the grave, but didn't make it in time

I love this movie, but I was never a huge fan of the music. The piano-pieces and Emily's melancholy song were my favorite bits, but that was it.

Guillermo del Toro's PINOCCHIO is also a very beautiful stop motion movie. I think you would enjoye it. The animation is just incredible and you could enjoy Pinocchio from another perspective <3

Frankenweenie is a cute movie! Also recommend Sweeney Todd.
Also would love a reaction to some of the songs from Lazy Town, especially We Are Number One.

One thing that bugged me is that the movie keeps treating it like Victor and Victoria are in true love when they've spent a collective 3 and a half hours together by the end of the movie. 3 of those hours were the rehearsal. At least he actually got to know Emily.

On the topic of Scary movies to watch to celebrate Halloween, I would recommend the Scream Franchise or just (1,5 & 6) and Alien.

I mean, if you just want to go through some great stop motion movies, Paranorman, Frankenweenie, Boxtrolls, Kubo, and Wendell & Wild are some good ones.
And IDK why, but I'm also thinking Hellboy 1 & 2. Are those even considered Halloween movies? ?

Corsets were actually really comfortable, assuming they were made for you and not done up super tightly. You would always wear a shift underneath so it wouldn't rub up against your skin and and there were front lacing corsets too! like, everyone wore corsets including the servants, and they wouldn't have anyone to help lace them up. Corsets in film are really just used as a visual metaphor for the generally restrictive roles women had back then, but it's let people to think that corsets were torture devices, when they were just old bras.

Came down to say the same thing lol When I learned that corsets were actually super comfortable and were just old bras, I'm so bummed when I see the corset portrayed this way in every TV or show a corset is in. A friend of mine usually uses a corset when she cosplays, and she says it works great and is very comfortable.
