Idk if anyone said it yet but the endings were played at different showings/theaters. So everyone had their own idea of how the movie ended then they told everyone which ending was real. Just like clue, so many accusations xD

Would love to see you watch A Bug's Life and the movie Antz back to back. Antz came about due to feud between the two film companies so might be interesting to compare.

This is a great movie, love the reaction. Couple of 80s comedies you should check out are

    The Burbs

    Better off Dead

And if you wanted another Tim Curry movie you could do Legend, I always thought he did a great job in that movie and the sound track by Tangerine Dream is great.

I’d love for them to watch And Then There Were None. The 1945 movie version and the 2015 drama show that’s more book accurate. They should also watch Murder on the Orient and Death on the Nile.

So my dad told me when it first came out all 3 endings would be sent to the theater but they would show multiple rooms at a time and so 3 separate rooms would come out thinking it was a different ending

My mom told me the same. And then people would argue about who had the right 'villain' and go to see it again together to prove it, and get a totally different ending still (since there were 3 endings). Probably harder to do nowadays but it sounded like a blast.

Funny thing is that Eileen Brennan was in another mystery spoof, "Murder by Death". A good one to watch, especially if you like the 1930-40's b--movie mysteries. Just don't expect to solve it, everything was done for laughs. For a very good Whodunnit, watch "The Last of Shiela". all the clues are given to you so that at the one hour mark you can make your deduction. Really great ending.

This is honestly one of my favorite comedies of all time. It is very smart and the cast was perfect, there were true comedic legends in this movie. I love that all the weapons are used and definitely the last one is the best because it makes the most sense that everyone aside from Mr. Green killed someone and when you go back and re-watch it you'll see the signs. Mrs. Peacock wasn't in the kitchen and Professor Plum wasn't there when they went to see Yvette. And the mansion itself is designed exactly like the game, down to the secret passageways. A great fun fact is the director was very strict about the script, so very little to no improvisation was used. To me that shows how brilliant it was, I would have sworn the cast did. The only time it was used was during Mrs. White's flame rant, you can actually that they guys are trying really hard to keep a straight face especially Tim Curry, he almost broke. He is also incredible in this, to be honest this is one of my favorites from him.

One of my favorite movies to watch or have play in the background while I do other stuff. I also love when Tim Curry smiles in this, all I see is Pennywise. 😄

I love how much of a product of its time this movie is. The butler's wife beings friends with... SOCIALISTS (gasp!) and Mr. Green being homosexual as blackmailable offenses is hilarious in hindsight.

This film, complete with the multiple endings, has to be the most faithful game adaptation out there, despite having to completely invent an actual plot.

Also, I know it's been mentioned before, but Knives Out, Kniiives Out.

What makes that so hilarious is it was completely improvised, in fact it was the only time that there was. The director was very strict about the script, so very little improvisation was used. And to me it just shows how brilliant the script was because I would have sworn the actors were, especially when you have comedians like Tim Curry. You can actually tell that the guys are trying so hard to keep a straight face, to me that also shows what a comedic genius Madeline Kahn was.

Yes, when they originally released this is theaters they sent different endings to different theaters. Also, This is the movie I have seen moat in my life. Used to put it on when I went to bed to fall asleep to.

Theaters got all three endings on their reels, but only ran one reel at any showing. So you got Scarlet is guilty one showing, you got Whole Party the next, etc etc. The endings weren't combined until the VHS release. This, of course, played hell with people discussing it post-watch and got people talking even more about it.

Fun fact: when this came out in cinema it actually had a ending for each person to be the killer. Different locations had different endings.
