I think out of all of the movies, this has the best ones, the way the last one starts with the emergency alert noise slowly increasing, makes the event feel so incredibly real especially to americans... then to fit the movie they throw in that little bit of humor to end it off which makes people leave the theater with a good mood

I think y'all missed the point in who got dusted. It is a mixture of what Thanos said in Infinity War, as well as some plot devices taken for artistic liberty for the story.

Thanos told Doctor Strange when he explained how he "chose" saying that it was done, "At random. Dispassionate, fair to rich and poor alike." However, for the sake of the story, we only get to see our heroes and other characters get dusted.

Without giving too much away, Endgame visits at what happened to the people in the world who were not "heroes" and allows them to grieve just a little bit.

house arrest is like never a 24/7 housearrest. depending on the case ur allowed to go to do ur essentials like to the supermarket etc, i mean you need to buy groceries. very often you can also go to ur workplace and back, and sometimes its times so you need to be at ur house like from 6pm to 9am

If I remember correctly, both Infinity War and Endgame were initially supposed to release in the same year. That was when they were first shown on a release schedule during a D23 panel. There was a lot of issues with production and resorts and a lot of other stuff, so I believe this was a movie that was slotted in. Captain Marvel was supposed to be in between both Avengers movies but timelines got all switched around

With the conversation at the end, I liked the Captain Marvel movie. I didn't enjoy Ms. Marvel/The Marvel strictly because I thought it was a bad movie, had nothing to do with the female lead(s). Like the Star Wars sequel trilogy some of the hate towards the films are actually based off the films, writing and direction and not the casting or having female leads. But just like politics, actual criticism of a movie gets lumped in with the extremists.

Captain Marvel received so much pre hate strictly because of man babies not being able to handle the fact that Brie Larson had a different opinion than them when it came to the movie Wrinkle in Time and it just became a popular thing to hate on the movie despite the fact that it made of ton of money and it actually wasn't half bad

I really like this movie 100%. I always liked the Ant Man movies. They're funny, competently made and I really love Scott as a lead. I don't get why they*re so underrated by the fans and this one is def not one of the meh ones. I love it and the first one as well

ngl these are just weaker mcu movie. Marvel lowkey just has good quality so they're like not shit. But in perspective 2 of probably the weakest in marvel all time between infinity war and endgame. So, that's why both these movies just get forgotten. Even though Captain Marvel did amazing in the box office.

Noteably the comic book fandom's views on Captain Marvel were heavily skewed by 2016's Civil War 2 event, where she was written wildly out of a character to a degree approaching the character assassination of Iron Man in the first Civil War comic from 2008.

As for the May release for Endgame: Up until recently Marvel always released their biggest movie of the year at the start of May. That tradition started with the First Avengers movie in 2012 I believe . So they’d start the summer box office season with their biggest movie of the year. In 2013 Iron Man 3, ( they skipped this in 2014 with an early April and July release instead), 2015 AoU, 2016 Civil War, 2017 Gotg vol 2 and in 2018 IW. All released last week of April or first of May. So Endgame would have stayed put there no matter what. For other movies releases in a year Marvel has fixed months they choose for them : February/March, July, November. Nowhere else. That’s because in a year some months are considered ‘dead months’ for blockbusters so they avoid them. Hence Marvel only had to chose between Nov and Feb/March for Captain Marvel. They didn’t do Nov bcs they already had 3 movies in 2018 and that*s their max a year. So that left Feb or March. Feb was untested for them until Black Panther actually so I think they were maybe unsure at the time and left it in March. It was only post covid that they had to get out of this because of regulations and uncertainty so NWH ended up in December, Shang Chi September . Then they got back to the known months in 2022 and 2023. In 2024 they delayed everything as a response to the dire box office and critical situation with the MCU at the time and D&W stayed put in July as their only release. Also they recently delayed the next two big Avengers two parters to December from May so it seems they’re moving away from having the big movies open the summer box office season. Again sorry for the long comment, hope this was informative to some who were wondering the same thing.

Child actors usually kind of take me out of it but Cassie is just wonderful. This movie is really fun. Its placement in the timeline did it no favors when it came out, like we just wanted Endgame, but I feel like it has aged mostly well.

Re the ending discussion : I liked Captain Marvel the movie and I love the character and the actress. She got so much unwarranted hate for no justifiable reasonable reason . I think her debut movie coming out between Infinity War and Endgame and so close to Endgame def helped the movie financially and I think its critical score too bcs of all the goodwill for the franchise at the time. I follow box office nrs quite closely , back then and even now. The hype around Marvel was at an all time high in 2018-2019, everything was hyped and talked about like crazy and the entire brand got a jump in interest because a lot of people wanted to see anything that would hint at Endgame. AM&TW got a boost too but was only held back by its international release schedule being scattered bcs of the 2018 World Cup at the time but Captain Marvel benefited the most by being so close to Endgame and her character was in the movies trailers , promos and marketing before her movie came out too. Not to mention the post credit at the end of Infinity War.

Everyone wanted to know who she was before the movie so they showed up and it made 1 billion dollars despite a more muted critical reception at the time. ( 79% which was considered low at the time for the MCU when the rest movies were mostly over 85-90%. Post Phase 3 79% would be one of the top ones). Had it come out earlier in Phase 3 or in Phase 4 it probably wouldn*t have hit 1 billion. The Spidey movie after Endgame likewise benefitted by the post Endgame hype and hit a billion, first Spiderman movie to do so at the time, so everything around Endgame got a boost cause of it. I think Captain Marvel suffered bcs it came out in a post SW:The Last Jedi environment where fandom behaviour was changing for the worst and a certain part of the internet was very loud about “anti-woke” and the actress rubbed that crowd the wrong way with some of her comments and speeches( through no fault of her own and I 100% agreed with her personally) so they got very vicious against her and her character. Sorry for the long comment haha. Just wanted to give my piece on it.
