This is one of my favorite PS2 games of all time! Play it all the way through please! This and X-Men Legends II are amazing! And as someone said, Marvel Ultimate Alliance branched from this and is also so amazing! These games are all "loosely" set in the Ultimate Marvel comic universe which was created in 2000 and is still running, though not as heavily as the main universe.
Side note on Destiny, it's not well received (I don't think it's that bad), and the setting is you control "your own character" instead of one the main X-Men.

Good ole X-Men Legends, the precursor and inspiration for the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance games which have the same gameplay, just with more characters. I put many hours in Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2. Good times.
Hope to see those or maybe X-Men Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition which is the most violent and brutal Marvel game I've seen (and one of Marvel's few Mature 17+ rated games).
