Just a heads up to help y'all go into the movie easier, the movie is Canonically parallel to the game and books. The movie isn't OUR timeline's Aftons, its a rewritten, self contained Alternate Universe (that also barrows from the books) written by Scott himself for the movie franchise. Its literally a new story and could HINT at where the game may go.

I personally loved security breach, the base game was amazing, the DLC was even better, I never understood people's problems with it except for the many bugs it had on release but everything has been patched for a long time now

On a similar note, and since yall have been playing fortnite lately, I'd highly suggest Top5Gaming's new video covering the entire fortnite storyline. The fortnite story is surprisingly really interesting and cool as all hell, would make for an amazing reaction if you're not already familiar with it!

I discovered that Fortnite has a storyline when MorePatterz (a channel I watch) started reacting to the Top5Gaming videos. I had absolutely no idea there was an actual story and explanations for why Fortnite is what it is. I thought it was really cool... up to a certain point. There was a point at which I felt the story got a bit boring. Once a lot of the mysteries got solved/answered, it started to lose a bit of my interest, unfortunately. Still very good videos and cool lore and I'd definitely love to see them react to it.

Thank you so much for finishing the timeline, I suggest if you wish to understand where the movie fit in , to wach the Film theory that Mat Pat did on the movie. But the way I understand is that the movie is a sepret story from the main continuity just like the first 3 Books. The Books in general ar a different continuity to .

it's mostly agreed by the community's that the first 3 parts of the theory are mostly accurate but the 4th part was disproven and not really relevant anymore

I hope that you watch the new Game Theory about the DLC but the movie is actually based on Silver Eyes the book and I was fine with that because I don't know how he was going to put all this lore in one movie of course they can make two and three but I'm just saying

can't speak for everyone but ill say i enjoyed the movie despite it making no sense for the games narrative because that's what im used to ?? boom and ruff are absolutely right in assuming that scott didn't understand the franchise to blow up like it did and he's flying by the seat of his pants. im so used to the story being convoluted and making no sense that when i saw that in the movie i just ignored it. if you genuinely want to get into fnaf you have to accept that scott cawthon is not a good story teller when it comes to being consistent

i highly recommend “Five Nights at Freddy’s Lore in Only 8:47:38 | Complete History, Timeline” this video will answer any questions you have. it explains the lore in the order of the games releases and reveals information the way fans got it when the games were being released, so it kinda mimics the experience of being there when the games came out. i personally agree with this timeline the most, mainly because it explains how it got every conclusion, though it is very long but the last hour is a timeline like the matpat videos.

the movie is a different continuity than the games, the books too are a different continuity, however clues, elements and so one are shared between the continuities so reading the books might not tell you the actual story for the games but certain things could parallel or hint at something in the games, the opposite could work as well, in general fnaf is basically a never ending puzzle to be solved, once you think you got the handle of something then a new book/game/etc could change your entire understanding of those things

So matpat had done a theory before the Fnaf movie came out (which actually wasn’t made by him but by one of the editors I think bc obviously Mat already knew what was gonna happen). He basically got most of it right in which he said that the movie was like sprinkled heavily with the most important parts of FNAF like Mike Schmidt, William Afton, the animatronics being possessed by missing children etc. However, it is also not accurate relating to the game lore because it’s most likely also trying to be a movie to intrigue new people to fnaf. Giving people who aren’t familiar with the games and books the opportunity to understand the movie without having to watch a lot of hours worth of FNAF gameplays and theories lol. So of course it isn’t 100% accurate, it was mostly for entertainment and separate storyline from the game. Most evident by Abby who I guess was a nod to Baby (Abby scrambled) in Sister Location, Vanessa being an Afton which she isn’t, Mike not being Williams son etc. Also cupcake? Never mentioned in the games to be sentient lol. All in all tho the movie was pretty freakin great imo. Matthew Lillard was an awesome William Afton lol.

I do recommend checking out matpats vids on the fnaf RUIN dlc that came out that adds alot to the lore and debunks certain parts of matpats theories regarding security breach

If you want to learn more you can play the games and watch more of Game Theory’s FNAF videos. He has a ton of them after all and this only covered his theory timeline from before the DLC came out so it’s different now.
Also for the games, for release order it’s FNAF 1-4, Sister Location, Pizzeria Simulator, Ultimate Custom Night, VR Help Wanted, AR (if you want to for lore bits), Security Breach, and then the dlc for it Security Breach: Ruin.

If you watch more of his FNAF theories though I recommend starting with the one right after this because his most recent ones are about the Ruin dlc and you’ll be even more confused ?

This one is certainly the most controversial, since the most recent game, RUIN, actually changes the narrative and disproves lots of this. Still, it's a really well-crafted narrative and I would have loved if this was *the* answer, since Afton's wife is still such a big mystery.

I really recommend Five Nights At Freddy lore in only 8:47:37 it’s the best lore video I’ve ever seen you can watch it on your own time if want as it is a very long video but well worth watching
