RWBY S9 Episode 1-2 Reaction
In the books, there's a running joke in Westeros that Tywin Lannister 'shits gold' due to how rich his house is. I mainly remember this because of a funny line when Tywin died in the books (also on the privy) that went something like 'Despite all rumours to the contrary, it seemed Tywin did not, in fact, shit gold.'
45:20 Brianne got that dog in her. Gotta be a big dog to take down the Hound. Btw the skeletons are the White Walker’s army of dead soldiers. Jojen knew he would die at the end as he saw when they were captured by the Night’s Watch mutineers.
There is a game of thrones themed make your choice game. It is called Reigns: Game of Thrones and it is actually great for streaming.
Charles Dance gave one of the best performances in the entire show. For 99% of the characters when I reread the books I still see the original version I imagined in the mid-2000s, but Tywin Lannister just IS Charles Dance for me now.
I just want to point out to you guys that a real sword, of the size that would've actually been used, that jon uses would've weighed 2.5 - 3.5 pounds. idk how much your swords weigh but they look to be more decorative pieces which tend to be made with materials to make it look good for longer without needing oils or anything, which would lead to it being heavier than the one made for combat.
OmgI forgot some of the stuff that happens in this episode! lol
There is a deleted scene from season 3 with Maester Pycelle and Tywin you need to see. It’s a tragedy that it was deleted from the show
Cersei is such a good villain because she’s awful, but also like… still very human.
Also now you fully understand why people don’t love Shay lol
Season 5 is great! Looking forward to the ride.
As Tyrion says "You love your children. It's your one redeeming quality, that and your cheekbones." Hard to hate on a mother for doing whatever she can to protect her kids in such a brutal world as this one. But also... she's just the worst and despicable.
So book 5 came out the same year as season 1 but season 5 is where the split in storylines becomes more than things like combining characters and events to save time and instead the books become more recommendations. Season 5 still follows many of the story beats of Book 5 and season 6 they had notes from George R R. Martin about what would happen but those start to be where book readers have problems but many people still consider season 5 and 6 to be among if not the best. I'll always be a little salty that the characters John Connington and Young Griff and the massive storyline built up around them just doesn't exists but that's a line of complaints that mean nothing to you.
"Lord Tywin did not, in the end, shit gold."
The saddest part about the Lannisters is: imagine what all four of them could have accomplished together if they actually liked each other. If Tywin and Cersei had loved Tyrion they could have very well been unstoppable.
you cant say that, a loved child would have developed different maybe he would have read way less or became a cunt like his sister xD you are what you are as a reason of ur upbringing
I'm so excited for you guys to start season 5! Its phenomenal. I wish it was next Thursday!!!!!!
I think I’m most curious to see you guys reaction once the story veers off book to see if you feel the noticeable lack out outline for the narrative. Also the ending I’m extremely interested to see how you guys receive the final two seasons.
best thing is the last thing Tywin learned was that his family legacy was a fucking lie
I live in the north of the UK, when watching the free folk I’ve always felt like they represent Scotland, and the north (Jon snows north) represents us northerners here in England. Can’t wait for season 5 guys! Great reaction as always!
That's hilariously offensive to Scottish people.
The Hound dying at the foot of a mountain…..seems about right.
I picked a hell of a time to start watching ahead, i couldn’t wait for more, lol. Your reactions were basically identical to mine for the fight/deaths. As soon as i saw the captain i knew he was from Bravos, super excited to see more from Arya, though i’m disappointed the Hound is seemingly dead. I desperately hope he returns because like was mentioned- we didn’t see it, and the rule is if you don’t see a body they aren’t dead. This is also the exact kind of show i would expect to leave you without proper closure though, so i’m torn.
“I’d probably admire the person who freed my family of slaves.” You missed a very important detail there, Ruff. He taught the MASTER’S children. So Dany is being admired by children who have been free their entire lives and have seen slavery as a normal part of society.
Season 5 is my favorite season, but there are 2 scenes that I absolutely despise (many others feel the same). Looking forward to the next reaction, great one here as always.
Non spoiler "Where we are compared to the books" -
The "adaptation" portions from this point are a little scattered. There's Book 4 storylines happening in Season 6, Book 5 storylines in Season 5... But the majority of Season 6 is show only.
Can’t wait for season 5.
What's crazy is that at this point when he said you're my son he meant it He found out his son and his daughter were **** around and that Tyrion was the only real one who he could foreseeably see as his heir
GOT tell tale series is quite good
Bran said,
“I see you shiver with ANTICI-“
There are 5 books, the show caught up by season 5, season 6 has some storylines from the books, season 7 and 8 have no book material at all
while this is mostly accurate, i feel the need to add to avoid confusion that while season 1 adapted book 1 and season 2 adapted book 2; season 3 and 4 adapted book 3, while seasons 5 and 6 adapted some of books 4 and 5.
you could play the game of thrones telltale game it begins with the red wedding and introduces new houses not seen in the show
Finally it's revealed Tywin has the exact same faults as Tyrion he's just a lot better at being lowkey about it. Also Cersei's first pov chapter is her dealing with the fallout of Tywin's death and you really get to see how self-deluded she is when she insist that Tyrion must have planted Shea's corpse in Tywin's bed and under no other circumstances would there ever be a "escort" in his bed otherwise lol. Not a spoiler cause the show doesn't mention any of this.
the books last until season 5 so starting from season 6 its show only and nothing from the books
There are still some book things in S6, just.. getting pretty thin lol. One major storyline in particular actually ends right where the most recent book does at the end of the season.
Season 5, after that, they were just given an outline of the rest of the story. Don't know if we ever get the last two books.
You should get a physicall map of the GoT world or just look it up. It gives a totally new perspective on where everyoby is
The Children of the Forrest and the Giants lived together before Man came to Westeros for the first time. When you hear people talk about the First Men, it's the first group of Humans to cross over from Essos to Westeros. When you her the world Andal, mostly when someone refers to Jorah as Jorah the Andal, they are referring to the second group of humans to cross over to Westeros.
The First Men came to Westeros tens of thousands of years before the start of the show. They worshipped the Old Gods, (Nature) much like the Children of the Forrest did/do.
The Andals brought the Seven or the Seven Faced God to Westeros, which the other 6 Kingdoms (Not counting the Iron Born) hold faith to.
the books ended at the end of season 5
Yall should react to the official lore videos. The actors read the stories in character for every season
The music in this show is amazing, and the track at around 23:54 is one of my favorites.
The last two books in the series take place at the same time but George split his pov's into two books cause he had so many. So parts of Season 5 and 6 are from the books and other plot lines are purely from the show starting in season 5. Also some characters who didn't make it from book to show get their arcs planted in other characters who are in the show.
regarding your question on 31:50; they were still adapting certain plotlines in the books next season, but I think it is important to note that they also started to do massive divergences from that point on.
Anyway, they basically ran out of source material by season 7. All that said, the showrunners did meet GRRM before he stopped working on the show post-season 4; where they talked about how the story ends and where the characters end up; whether or not they followed through with that blueprint has never been confirmed or denied.
This is NOT where I expected a So I Married An Axe Murderer reference, but here we are. Thanks Boom.
