   I did not come into this new anime expecting to see a Vatican heist the same week as a new Pope was elected, a Stephen Lynch reference, AND a Limp Bizkit theme song in the first episode, but here I am... I'm so fucking happy I decided to give this series a shot. Thank you Boom.🥹

   I mean, VP isn't *always* a political scarecrow.  The show is definitely going for a "GWB 2.0" vibe with the president which means the VP is Dick Cheney 2.0.  And as anyone who's read anything knows, he was the dude in charge of policy.  He was the one meeting with oil execs and making maps on how to carve up the Middle East for oil rights upon successfully conquering it.  So the goons being impressed with him makes sense.  Also he's literally in charge of the government's elite demon hunting group so there's also that.

      Dick Cheney isn't the only example where a VP was the actual person holding political power in American history but he's the most recent and prominent one.  Though you could argue there are more recent examples with Trump's VP's.  Man's a dumbass narcissist who's good for literally nothing outside of conning people, and even then he can only do that because he has inherent prestige and wealth (the latter people know, but the former is true as well; the Trump family are known, decently old wealth, and that kind of reputation matters more to all the other rich dumbasses than anything; unlike other class groups the rich are FIRM about always sticking together and it lets shits like Trump and his father (an infamous real estate conartist) make insane bank even as they fail at anyting practical regarding business ventures.  FR, just about every business Trump has started has failed spectacularly, but he has known how to frame it to let himself benefit from it, and in the cases where he did take an L, and gathered massive debt, other rich people still ignored it because debt only exists for middle and lower class people, not for the truly rich)).
