Wednesday S2 Episode 1-2 Reaction
Look, I can understand skipping a FEW episodes. However, this show isnt like the Clone Wars, which was an anthology series for most of it. Bad Batch, and to a lesser extent Rebels, are much more narratively focused, and skipping episodes deprives you of the emotional impact. For starters, you skipped on how Crosshair trained his own squadron to be ruthless, which was why they defied Crosshair in the finale. You also skipped out on Wrecker's chip slowly working. As well as the Cad Bane episode, which shows that the Kaminoans are working behind the scenes to keep Omega away from the Empire.
AND, looking at your schedule, you'll be skipping straight to episode 7 of Season 2, which will be skipping HUGE context for episodes.
You guys NEED to have your editor or someone who isnt watching the shoe actually review the episodes and tell you what is needed and not needed.
Hounstly if your skipping like this you might as well drop the series I feel like me and many people are just not motivated to watch this series anymore if your skipping like this.
Love you guys, have really been helping us stat entertained on base. But there is difference between knowing the story and connecting to it.
Honestly I enjoy bad batch but I don’t think I’m going to bother watching with how much your skipping
I'm gonna be honest, I was open to skipping around at first, willing to wait to see how it plays out. If it's going to play out like this, I'm just not going to watch at all, sorry y'all. Much love still, I understand the time constraints, but, yeah. Have fun with the rest of Bad Batch but I'd rather you skipped it entirely. It's like watching the main SW movies in 1,4, 8 order and it's pretty ass.
Season 2 recommendations
Episode 3, 6, 8 (7&8 are the same story told in two and 8 is essential to the story.) 12, meh 13, 14-16
sorry to disappoint but check the schedule
Man, yall missed so goddamn much, yeah yall can still follow along but this is just ridiculous, I was so looking forward to the daro arc
At this rate we will get to rebels very soon haha which I’m excited for! But rebels lore is IMPORTANT and connected to all the live action Disney + shows along with the upcoming movies so I’d say change your strategy a bit for that, there deffo might be some filler here and there which you can skip which I am more than happy to research for you
Exactly only 20 episodes of all of Rebels are actually filler
Also if you ARE gonna continue the Best of concept, do POLLS please! Since going with the logic of popular episodes won’t work, someone needs to send you which arcs to skip in this show, tbf Im sure someone has
Right?!? is there poll or is that just discord?
No they've literally told people in the comments on eps 7and 8 that "were doing what we want" lol
I feel like Bad Batch is so much darker and more mature than clone wars and rebels exploring all sorts of themes like the soldiers being left behind which you find in the most random eps. Season 3 hits very hard if you’ve seen all the eps like there’s soo much character dev. Hoping you do more eps/arcs(complete arcs lol) in the future seasons
So many questions about things would of been answered if you didnt skip guys. Either way. Your choice
Just realized they skipped the cad bane stuff
Dude they missed ALOT.
Yeah next season dont do this. There ALOT OF Good episodes
Well this is rough... lot's of missing context here
Please don’t skip around like this in Rebels so much of that story and characters connections play factor in ahsoka 1&2, mandalorian and grogu and mandarlorian season 2 parts of it. And more stuff coming
well i really wish you do check out the crosshair epidodes in season 2 at least
I have my fingers crossed they don't skip the upcoming Crosshair-focused episodes.
Don't mind the skipping, season 1 is sorta all over, though I think you should've included the Ryloth episodes as they wrap up what happened early in TCW and introduce a character you need to know in time for season 3 of TBB
generational fumble on this reaction ngl, shame because this show is so good
This is just awful if this is what your going to do for the rest of Bad Batch and Rebels maybe don't react to them and do something else instead.
I really dont get the point of skipping those episodes, like i assume you just simply dont have the time or something which is fine but like maybe just watch an entire season of it in just 1 reaction or just skip the show all together. Clone Wars ironically makes way more sense to skip episodes on but this is an entirely serialised show
This is not the way. 🤦♂️
It is
i really want these reactions to continue first and for most and my criticism is not meant to hurt or tell you guys you are doing a bad job. Skipping i can understand, if nothing is happing and its filler with no plot progression that's a valid approach. Especially since there is a lot of shows to get through. However, as mentioned by others a lot of important character arcs are skipped and even introductions to two characters who are in the next show! so im just really confused on who exactly made the decision on what episodes the watch because respectfully that ball was dropped.
No it's fine because the characters that were introduced in this show that come into the next show we're already introduced in Rebels because Rebels came out before bad batch so in reality they're not really missing an introduction because the likely get introduced to those characters when everyone else got introduced to those characters which is in the next show not this show
Yeah no, just skip the show. Just find a youtube video that summarizes the show or something and get to the next one. It would make more sense.
The Gungan city is the only one that works, but also Gungans are amphibious so they've built their whole infrastructure around that
I'm hoping the episodes y'all have chosen for Rebels will be the ones I'm thinking of...the skipping over episodes in Bad Batch doesn't really bother me, mainly because that overall story just isn't nearly as important as Rebels...
On the bright side, all this means we'll get to the good stuff much faster, it's just a slight bummer what we're sacrificing to get there. Nonetheless, I'm here for y'alls journey, its just a different journey than I'm used to with these shows, that's all.
No matter what though...if the comments in the Patreon videos are anything to go by, the comments for the next 2 shows on YouTube are gonna be...very...very interesting. Lol.
I think the skipping is fine for this show and Rebels. Both shows are good, but neither is as good as Clone Wars (which even it had some awful episodes, anything with JarJar). And both Bad Batch and Rebels has filler adventure episodes that you can skip and still appreciate the show, story, and characters. I don't think the writing for Bad Batch or Rebels was as good as Clone Wars anyway.
I would rather have them wait half a year to a year for the full seasons rather than this. I don't even feel motivated to watch their reactions to Bad Batch anymore
for real they don't realize they've effectively killed the interest not only for this season for for all star wars going forwarf
It is kinda hard to be here only for star wars and get the whole story skip if you guys a burned out of starwars it would be better to just not react at it for a few months and later come back than skip the whole season
It's not that they're burnt out of Star Wars they're just skipping through bad batch and Rebels to episodes that are important or relevant to the story and not filler. Which makes sense also there's tons of other stuff they react to that you should check out if you're really only here for Star Wars there's probably other things they react to that you'd enjoy
Well they’re skipping a bunch of important and relevant episodes
I hate to be tacking on more negativity, especially because you've all treated us so well for so long, but it was such a good decision to binge watch this season on my own. Which really sucks because I love watching things for the first time with you guys, like from DCAMU/MCU and Clone Wars, and that's just completely impossible with how you're jumping around. I hope it'll change, but unless something changes, I can't keep up with these in good faith
It's only going to be with bad batch and Rebels because those have way too many episodes that aren't necessary to watch especially when you've got tons of other shows and movies to get through.
"Way too many episodes," Bad Batch doesn't even have 50 episodes and they're 20 minutes long. Season 1 could have been done in a similar time to Falcon & Winter Soldier. Maybe Star Wars wasn't the series to limit how much they react to, if you think they're doing so much
They ignored the Separatist rescue episode, the Ryloth arc, the Stormtrooper introduction episode………….what the hell are they thinking?!
Really does suck that they might do Rebels in a similar matter. Rebels is a show that is worth watching every episode, especially since it is serialized unlike Clone Wars was.
There is no might they already said they're going to be skipping through Rebels at the end of the last Clone Wars episode
I would disagree, lots of filler adventures in Rebels.
Not that much. Still, at least it's not as many as Clone Wars was.
The show may be centered around the squad but it also show the results of order 66 and how it affects everyone
Was there really any research done? This is a shit list of ep u guys decided on to watch
i think the research was just looking at other channels and seeing what episodes did well and what ones had poor viewership, since it seems none of this is going by important story beats, they even skipped the final episode of the last arc.
Yeah. I dont what list they were looking at to watch but this is B.S. they are missing some of the best episodes
You guys also completely missed Crosshairs villain arc and the emphasis on the change of times between the republic to the empire Crosshairs literally executes POWs bruh💀
I’m ngl you should have done rebels if this is how your watching bad batch you are completely missing the B story of the treatment of clones under the new imperial regime which is the entire point of the series you should’ve had someone mae you a list for episode at the very least
They're skipping through Rebels episodes as well
They are most likely doing the same thing with Rebels when they get to it.
That’s insane because rebels you genuinely need to watch damn near every episode IMO to really understand the characters and the inner workings of the rebellion in its early days of war against the empire
Not true at all I didn't watch all of rebels and it didn't hinder my understanding of any other Star Wars shows going forward. I made sure I tuned into the Darth Vader Ahsoka episodes along with a few others and I wasn't lost with anything else
Yeahhhh… this isn’t a very good reaction. I’m fine with skipping episodes but like someone else said any Billie could’ve provided a list of episodes to watch and avoid the fluff. When you said skip I thought you’d at least finish arcs you started… the problem with Clone Wars was that it was an anthology series so it jumped around a lot and we got whole arcs without the “main” characters. The main character of the Clone Wars was really the war itself and how it was changing the galaxy. Bad Batch and especially Rebels are more traditional, serialized shows. There are still episodes you can skip but I didn’t think you meant the entire show. Bad Batch is already short as it is.
As someone who actually loved the Bad Batch, I feel like you guys should've just skipped the Bad Batch entirely. I feel like the format you're watching will just alienate the people that it was designed to please. In general, I think The Bad Batch is fundamentally just too recent of a show to generate the required audience to make reacting to it worthwhile.
Wait no we didnt get to see Hera and Choppers episodes
Didn’t even finish the cad bane arc either. Honestly makes it hard to watch which makes it even more disappointing when you really wanna watch anyways 😆
Guys, you gotta know how much this sucks from an audience perspective. I was cool with skipping some inconsequential episodes but you're not even finishing arcs that you start.
Yeah I’ve seen them mention before that they weren’t confused and had all the context they needed, but even with that being the case they are still missing impactful and meaningful moments.
The entire Howzer scene which was pivotal for a lot of later character moments now mean nothing
Of course they'd say that, they don't actually know the things they missed or whether any of it will come up again
Y’all, if I’m gonna be honest… I don’t mind the skipping. I love Star Wars, always have ever since I was six years old. If I’m going to be completely honest, Bad Batch wasn’t the best show. It had fun moments, but even I hardly remember it. I get skipping it might be odd, but I don’t blame them for not wanting to watch 8 episodes of filler just to get the context for “the hype moments.” Yes it’s odd but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. I think we’re giving them a little harder of a time than necessary. Just my two cents.
I’m fine with skipping episodes but using view count from other reaction channels wasn’t a good idea. And not finishing arcs is kind of insane for viewership anyway I would think. An actual list with episodes to skip would’ve been better. If there’s any Star Wars show with skippable arcs it’s Clone Wars.
I agree and disagree. I think using view count as a guide was just a bad idea. Obviously good for them business wise, but for the fans it really kind of sucks. There’s definitely some filler that could be skipped 100%, but it feels like having one foot in one story arc then jumping to the next before that one even finishes. They would’ve been better off following a fan made list or anything else really. IMO all the view count really speaks for is the casual fans or people who just want to see the reactions to big moments plus the fact that this is one of the least popular shows within modern Star Wars, but if you go through any of the comment sections you’ll see most of us do not follow that trend. I respect their decision, but at this point you can’t not expect it to be a point of contention every week as it continues. And I could be wrong, but I don’t see them doing this with anything else. It’s a tough thing. I also respect them sticking to their guns and they’ve been pretty open and honest about why they have, but yeah as a fan it’s disappointing.
I'm really starting to think this is a case of putting the cart before the horse. That they're concerned too much about the business side that the actual reaction, you know the actual product that we subscribe for, suffers as a result
I couldn’t agree more. I hate to sit here and sound like I’m trying to be critical of them trying to do what they think is best, but I think the comment section really speaks to it being just a bad decision.
No Hera episodes for the billies 😢. Some of the best stuff in Star Wars is stuff that’s outside the main plot. Being a Star Wars fan around here is rough right now 😂. Still love the whole crew, but just damn… it hurts knowing some of the stuff that’s been missed even if it’s not important to the main plot.
oh they skipping skipping lol
I know yall said you researched which episodes to watch… but average reaction view counts was a silly way to do it. Any Star Wars Billy could have provided a list of essential episodes that still would have cut all the fluff and wouldn’t have dropped key plot points about the phasing out of clones, Omega’s rescue from Cad Bane, and Hunter’s capture. Really hope yall reconsider this approach moving forward— it’s great content that yall deserve to see!
Yall say your gonna do the more important episodes then you only do 5 out of the 16 episodes. I understand this is not the most popular show but this feels like a big fk you to all your star wars fans. I personally would of preferred you just skipped it if your not even gonna do the half of the episodes even tho they are only 30min each
Not true because I'm a Star Wars fan and it's not a f you to me they didn't even need to watch bad batch to be honest with you.
They didn't decide to watch Bad Batch because "it's the next show in the series to watch" or whatever, they enjoyed Clone Wars so much that they CHOSE to watch more in the universe. What's the point in choosing to experience more, only to then pick and choose the parts you think "are more related to the story?" At that point you're super right, they should have just skipped this after all
agreed, perhaps do a reaction to an in depth breakdown of all the story beats so they at least have the context. but this just feels like a giant slap in the face for the star wars fans that wanted to enjoy this with them.
Guys I’m sorry, but this is terrible. Like I think I would’ve rather you not bother at all if this was gonna be your approach. You missed out on so many key moments and it’s not like this is that long of a series anyways. it’s only 47 episodes. Sure skip a few here are there but this much? Can’t agree.
Agreed
I hope at least, you guys are at least reading recaps, cause this skips so much, missing the introduction to replacing clone troopers and also skipping the rescue of Omega and other stuff that happened. I will say, if you haven't watched season 2 yet, if you want to do this, an essential list is better than what gets more views cause. This is like skipping 6 episodes of Game of Thrones in a season. For Rebels, I hope you either watch the whole series or do an essential list instead of relying on how it did for other reaction channels. The Clone Wars would have been better to do this format with since there are so many episodes that can be skipped without understanding it affecting the greater story since it is an anthology. If you continue, at least watch recaps in between these episodes so you don't lose things. I will say I feel like somethings will be less impactful due to missing episodes cause besides premieres and finales, I don't know which episodes were "popular" and certain episodes, especially in season 2 and 3 of Bad Batch work better of you watch the show. That's just my opinion really. I'm glad you are enjoying it, but I do hope you eventually go back and watch the episodes you missed cause those episodes were really great.
I like how you say “we made it” as if you didn’t skip most of the season and important bits
Yes, that’s the joke
We only got legit 5 out of the 16 episodes in season one:
Episode 1, premiere
Episodes 7-8
And Episodes 15 and 16.
Barely over a quarter of the season 😂😂
What the hell you just completely skipped the epsiode of them getting omega back from cad bane?
That’s what I thought when I read a comment in last week’s post that we were getting these episodes next
Damn we zoomin through 😭😭😭
Unfortunately to fast for quite a few of us
