I'm just correcting boom here, but this series takes place way before together, it just wouldn't make sense for this to be after. Finn died old, and he and Jake reincarnate together into new lives.Together Again is pretty much the definite solid conclusion of Finn and Jake's story.

Finn and Jake’s episode of Distant land hasn’t happened at this point, finn was dead at that point.

The show Cheers kept playing in Fionna and Simon's world because it was the song Simon sung to Marcy during the apocalypse that one episode: Simon & Marcy back in Adventure Time. It's to show connection between the parallel worlds.

Has anyone confirmed the bear and Huntress Wizard aren't the same people, because I have been STRESSING out about that since I first saw this episode and I feel like I never got a clear answer if Finn literally just accidentally killed her or not!?!?

It's never confirmed but I seriously doubt that's the case- Huntress Wizard has never turned into animals before, and even if she did, the bear's eyes didn't look like her's (she has slitted eyes normally, and it would he basic character design to incorporate that in the bear's design)

I think Jake being dead is likely just because he's a dog and dogs live a shorter lifespan than humans do. He grew up with Fin, they were babies at the same time, yet when fin was like 14-15 Jake was a full grown adult with a wife and kids. So Jake probably just died of old age while Fin was still a young adult.

Yeah, by the time Finn is around 16 Jake says he's "basically in his fourties" if my math is mathing right, he's aging something like 2.5 times faster than Finn, maybe more.
Jamie

exactly. their parents died when Finn was still really young as well. dogs just don't live as long, and just because they can talk doesn't negate the fact that they are still just dogs.

A little on what Boom was saying near the end, it's largely implied that this Finn is actually our Finn from before he dies and visits Jake, so it's nice seeing how mature he is even without having that wonderful epiphany in the Deadworlds.

It's not implied, it just wouldn't make sense for this to be after. We already know that Finn died old, and he and Jake reincarnate together into new lives.

Yes, this is more or less taking place before Distant Lands; Together Again is pretty much the definite solid conclusion of everything and especially Finn and Jake's story. So throughout this episode, Finn was still doing everything to cope with Jake's death, you can even tell he's hanging out with Jake's kids/grandkids almost as if to fill the void.

Just to clarify with you guys since it seems based on your commentary that you think distant lands ep 3 already happened by the time fionna and cake starts. This isn't a spoiler, so keep in mind that distant lands ep 3 happened after finn died at a very old age based on how he looked when he entered the dead worlds. So basically nothing from together again has happened yet, finn is an adult here and life hasn't reincarnated him alongside Jake yet

One thing you guys seen to have misinterpreted: Together Again hasn't happened yet. When Finn and Jake went back to the living world in the ending of that they were going to reincarnate in their next lives (presumably Shermy and Beth from Come Along With Me) not going back to their bodies.

If you can remember the last Adventure Time episode that featured Fionna and Cake, Ice King said the stories got beamed into his head and in the end of that episode we see a beam aimed at his head with Fionna and Cake stories so yeah it seems that this universe was inside Simon's head since Cake came out of it after his ritual.

I'm just correcting boom here, but this series takes place way before together again where finn was still alive and while he does a good job of hiding it, he is constantly going on adventures in order to distract himself from the sadness of Jake's death.

Yep, the song is by Rebecca Sugar.
And the implication is that Finn is actually very depressed but tries to distract himself (he pretty much mentions as much in the episode, about ignoring sad things and just trying to keep busy.)
Like he said during Distant Lands, he couldn't stop thinking about seeing Jake again after Jake died, so sadly it seems he couldn't fully enjoy life. Though it's nice he's seeing Huntress Wizard.
We don't have a confirmed reason, but people theorize Jake may have died of old age, because he has a shorter life-span as part-dog.

But Simon's issues make so much sense he was Ice KIng for 1000 years and now is completly out of his element and Finn has is own issues without Jake and is trying to deal with it. But I do like since Together again we know Finn is fine.

About Distant Lands Episode 3, it takes place right after Finn dies, so nothing that happens in it affects Fionna and Cake. The other Distant Lands already happened, so Fionna and Cake is kinda the present as of now
