The interesting thing is that isn't Frigga in the cell with Loki its just one of his illusions so he's basically psycho-analysing and chewing himself out over his choices by what he thinks his mother would say if she could visit him.
Eh, no? She created that illusion because that's the only way she could talk to him. There is a deleted scene that shows her after that conversation.
Ironically about the whole "Shazam Marvel" talk, Shazam's original hero name was Captain Marvel. 🌩 ⚡️ 💜
Y'all should watch Super Hero Squad, it's really good and Thor is hilarious in that show.
The Collector gives you a weird vibe because of who, or more accurately what, he is. It is never addressed in the MCU but he is one of the Elders of the Universe. So long as he possesses the will to live he is quite literally immortal, and has been alive for BILLIONS of years.
Can I watch this on patreon? The website is baggy and the video keeps starting over. No disrespect intended. Am I the only one having this issue?
It's an underrated movie, much Asgardian lore and visual. I guess less action and too much lore dump for some people. I will argue of the trilogy, this is number 3. Yes there's a fourth, but ya'll along way from it, and I still think it was good, but not sure where it stands inside and outside the trilogy.
correction: not lore dump so much as exposition and talking. People wanted actions back then I guess. I don't know, I liked it then, I still like and defend it now. But yeah ironically, still the lesser of the 3, and yeah technically, weaker of the Phase 4 (Winter Soldier, Guardians, Avengers 2, with Thor and Ant-Man tied)
Yeah, I don't hate it either. There's actually quite a few good things I really like about it. For me some of the biggest problems is the villain, he's just boring and way too much Darcy. I like the character but she can be a little grating at times for me, so I need smaller doses of her.
I never understood the hate for this movie. It's not a masterpiece of a film or anything, but it has action, cool scenery and lore, and it's funny. I honestly think it's better than the Hallmark plot that eats up most of the first one.
By FAR the worst Thor movie
No, it's not. That's Love and Thunder.
Yeah guys keep watching avengers Movies to the end avengers endgame is really good
I think one of the biggest missteps from this movie was to lean into more of a sci-fi aesthetic instead of the more fantastical nature of the original movie. Removing the Shakespearean nature of what Kenneth Branagh was such a huge loss to the vibes.
So I’m kinda new to sorta stupid and I want to know when it comes to the MCU are they just watching the movies and that’s it or are they also watching the shows and does that include the pre-Disney plus shows (Netflix abc Hulu Freeform) or just the Disney plus shows?
They've talked about the shows before, and are particularly hyped for Loki due to how hyped up it's been on the channel. So definitely watching the Disney+ shows, no clue about the pre-Disney+ ones. Personally I haven't watched them and I'm not really interested in them, but I'd give them a shot if they reacted to them.
Alright thanks for the info. Hope they get caught up before doomsday but we’ll see
You guys caught the mid-credits scene, but there's a post-credits-scene as well. Not hugely important, but just a reminder to look for both on every marvel movie afterwards.
If I remember correctly there was an in universe explanation as to why shit always goes down on earth in the comics so that comment made me remember that lol
Remember from here on out, there are post credit scenes and mid credit scenes.
im just waiting for avengers age of ultron, impatiently
and all the billys say im pretty fly for a white guy lol like eric i did the uh huh uh huh
ironically if youd like the answer to where was shield during all this just watch agents of shield
Thor: The Dark World IS my least favorite of all the MCU movies (yes comment section, I like Quantumania, Captain Marvel and The Marvels way more than this) but it’s still VERY enjoyable and not a bad film in my eyes, the main villain just sucks.
Nah agreed bud. They're all still great and fun movies, some are just more enjoyable than others. For me at least, people just can't have fun with marvel movies anymore it seems.
If i remember right a lot of the reason people disliked this movie was because the villain was kind of bland. I still get that take because literally every scene with loki is more interesting than the ones with maliketh. The next thor movie is the favorite of the 4.
That's one of my biggest problems with this film too, the villain. Thor Ragnarok is easily top 5 of my favorite MCU films, not counting the Avenger's films.
My* favorite. sorry
There’s actually a 2nd post credits scene that you guys missed at the very end of the credits. But the one you guys watched is the more important one anyway.
But it’s so cute though.
I hope they watch daredevil tv series cause its SO GOOD
15 movies to go
Sorry ignore that comment I just made
Double MCU drop next week?🤔😉
If you watched Agents of Shield, you would see a bit of where Shield is during all of this
This movie really shows how Odin's parenting fucked up Loki here. XD If it wasn't for Thor getting banished, he would have just been as bad as Loki got. Even the whole Odin being the AllFather, forcing his rule on all Nine Realms? Kinda dictatorship. =D But, I will say it's kinda messed up that Thor just left Loki's body out in the open to get buried in dirt, instead of at least dragging him somewhere like that cave so he'd be easier to find later if he truly wanted to bring Loki home to be put to rest like Frigga had been. Woulda also revealed sooner that Loki didn't fully die, as the guy seems to be like a cat.
I also have a soft spot for this movie, as I saw it in theatres with my grandmother, who loved all the Norwegian used as she learned it with her sister who wanted to embrace our heritage. The jokes in it are also pretty fun, and I like how it keeps a more serious tone throughout, unlike the 3rd Thor movie.
If I ain't stupid this end-credit scene is the first time the Infinity Stones were name dropped in the MCU
Yup it is!
I remember enjoying the film. I just did not love it like that and wasn't interested in a rewatch anytime soon. Oh and there is a funny theory that this movies success was because of how hot Chris Hemsworth & Tom Hiddleston are with getting ladies eyes 😂😂. I don't believe that To be honest.
Is anyone else having trouble with the video playing?
Hello Dittmann, Website developer here. This issue should be fixed now.
Same for me everything Else works, watched Episode 6 Return of the Jedi Last night instead, and the last episodes of Young Justice and they work fine
I had this problem, hit them up on discord and they said to clear my cache and cookies and reload the web page and it worked
i really like The Dark World, i just like other marvel movies more.
i keep forgetting that Winter Soldier comes before Guardians and keep getting bummed that the latter's farther away than i remember. Winter Soldier's amazing don't get me wrong, but I'm just REALLY excited to rewatch Guardians.
So, for me this is probably one of weakest MCU films, but I don't hate it. There's actually quite a few things I really like. I think Loki is done very well in this, I love that moment when he breaks the illusion and shows Thor his true mental state after Frigga's death, it really showed how much her death really effected him and I also like them teaming up, the ending between them is honestly very beautiful. I also think Frigga's funeral was done very well, the music and visuals are great. I like that we get to see Thor interact with his friends even more and it taking place mostly on Asgard. And probably my favorite part is the Cap cameo. I thought Evans did such a good job because not only did he have to pretend to be Loki but also Loki pretending to be Cap. I just wish that the scene lasted a little bit long because I love it so much. But other then that it's pretty weak. The villain has got to be one of the worst, he's just so boring. That's honestly one of my biggest problems with Iron Man 3 as well, the villains. And I do like her but they have WAY to much Darcy in this, she doesn't need her own subplot. The character can be a little grating for me sometimes, so I need smaller doses of her. But, it's definitely not the worst, I think there are far weaker films.
A fun fact though, that end scene when Thor comes back to Jane and she runs up and kisses him, she actually had a double. I can't remember why she couldn't do it but the double was actually Chris Hemsworth's real wife, Elsa.
Surprised they didn't watch the 2nd psot credit scene(not that it matters). I'm so ready for next week tho it's gonna be hype
Him hanging the hammer on the coat rack was unscripted
Anyone else have problems starting the movie? It just goes black if i click on it and the movie length starts but the timer and the movie doesnt starts. If i click on the timeline i get a split second frame of what is on screen but nothing more.
Same happening with me too.
Yeah it's happening to me too
Same
YES, BRING ME ANOTHER
So as for the Asgard side cast, they are all the same people except for Fandral(the blonde guy)… Zach Levi plays him in every movie except Thor 1. He was supposed to be the original actor, but couldn’t get out of his contract for the first one.
I always wondered why Josh Dallas wasn't in this one, I always assumed he wasn't available due to Once Upon A Time. Which, it would be awesome if they reacted to that show!
