It's a super tiny detail but the fact that while Whis was dodging Broly near the end there, he managed to perfectly time and dodge Gogeta teleporting in with instant transmission. It perfectly shows how Whis is always in a state of UI as he didn't even have to think/react to Gogeta literally teleporting in instantaneously, he just casually takes a tiny step back and to the side so Gogeta can neatly fill the space he just occupied. So fkn cool to see that attention to detail.

Its sad knowing that this was Christopher Ayres, Friezas VA, final anime film role, and it was his most popular character he has played. I do wish that he was alive to this day, but his understudy, now the current VA for Frieza, Daman Mills, does an amazing job voicing Frieza and does Chris proud

I love watching OG dragon ball mostly because it"s not overly focused on the fighting, in the beginning it was more about the exploration of the world meeting new characters and looking for the dragon balls though the show did still have the fighting and training but it was not the priority until a tournament came up.
I mean, you guys saw DBZ Broly Abridged, which honestly plot-wise is identical lmao. So it's fine to reference that.

Saiyans cannot survive in space. They need air to breathe. Even Goku and Vegeta. Hence why Frieza nearly drowned Goku on Namek. Though some Saiyans like Goku, Vegeta and Broly can contend with gods they still need oxygen.

Also bit of info, the manga and anime for super was never done by toriyama, he made a very simple manuscript of events, and then the anime staff named "the dragon room" would use those notes and fill in the gaps to make the anime, while a man named toyotaro would use those same notes and fill in the blanks to draw and write the manga, which is why the anime and manga differ even tho they were being made simultaneously. after the tournament of power, the anime stopped, and for the manga toriyama stopped making notes and it was fully toyotaro writing, with some advice from toiyama here and there and the mnaga is still set to continue but since toiyama passed its been on a break. the only things in super fully written by toriyama, were battle of gods, ressurection F, broly and superhero,and now daima coming out was also written fully by toriyama

Of the Dragon Ball movies, this is easily my second favorite, with my favorite being Super Hero (which I love everything about except the way the title ends up coming out)

Having Broly call Goku, Kakarot, is also cool symbolism for his heritage. As in full blooded sayians call him by his sayian name Kakarot.

All of the DBS Manga was drawn by Toyotarou, Toriyama’s appointed successor. Toyotarou used to make Dragon Ball fan manga before Toriyama appointed him.

OG Dragon Ball doesn’t become a serious story until 1/3 to 1/2 way through the story. Toriyama was basically just fucking around and ended up improvising his way into making one of the greatest stories ever.
OG Dragon Ball is way more comedic but it’s a serious story from the very first arc which includes torture, kidnapping, attempted murder, and the fate of the Earth. King Piccolo is the first villain to lack any real comedic aspects, but even the Namek Saga in DBZ had a comedic arc with the Ginyu force

DBGT had a couple good ideas but poorly executed them. Toei didn’t want to lose their time slot so they made a whole nother series that wasn’t written by Toriyama.
One thing I enjoy in this movie is after broly powers up and rises from the water, if you pay attention when he's fighting goku you can see he has more than doubled his size. The great ape power up he gained made him significantly bigger but they never really talk about it

The subtitles they have in this movie are the direct translations of the Japanese dialog rather than a subtitle of the English dialog. It's more common in anime for some reason

They didn’t ruin anything he destroyed his own career. 11 affidavits were submitted against him from 12 women including his own former girlfriend of 12 years, an internal investigation by Sony found that he had been inappropriate with female colleagues, the court even found that the statements made about him were not defamatory and ordered him to pay the defendants legal fees. When he tried to to appeal the decision the second court of appeals not only rejected his appeal they found that the original judge had made an error and that Vic should have been paying the defendants even more money in legal fees. When a dozen women say you sexually harassed them, and a private investigator says you sexually harassed the women, and the courts say that the claims you sexually harassed the women are accurate, then guess what, you sexually harassed the women
Except many of those women were caught lying about events that happened, their stories would be proven false by either video evidence, or eye witnesses they themselves named coming forward and saying the events didnt happen how they claimed, as well as literally every piece of evidence coming about him on the internet being proven false or faked. now can any of us say he was never creepy? no, someone being creepy is all from individual peoples perspective, and he was a very huggy person to everyone which some find creepy, and he since stopped doing that even when fans ask for hugs. When so much of the evidence brought forth is openly proven to be false, it really makes you think about it all. Also, the court didnt claim he harassed women, the court case was for defamation not whether he did it or not, and vic couldnt prove that what was said about him, true or false, was the sole cause of him losing work and money.
All of this started because monica was probably upset with his popularity and proceeded to blame it on a dumb jelly bean joke.
Plus with the kind of things Sean schemmel and Monica rial have said and done in the past I'm amazed anybody sided with them. They're an embarrassment to the characters they voice

Frieza abd Bulma’s petty wishes are actually super in theme with OG Dragon Ball. The original reasons they had for searching for them in OG DB we’re, Bulma wanted to wish for a boyfriend and Yamcha wanted to wish for a girlfriend or to no longer fear women(can’t remember which). The first wish they ever made was Oolong(the pig) wishing for panties.
Yamcha wanted to wish to no longer be afraid of women. And oolong made the panties wish to stop pilaf from using the dragon balls to become king of the earth
I’m so happy that Broly isn’t triggered by Goku crying anymore. There were people who, when this movie came out, were adamantly defending the crying thing. “No you don’t understand! It wasn’t that Goku crying was the traumatic event, it’s that planet Vegeta blowing up was traumatic and Goku’s birth name triggers the traumatic memories!” And I’m just like “well, they conveyed that VERY poorly!”

This movie maybe is Dragon Ball Super, but they use an instrumental version of Cha-la-head-cha-la for the opening, it's good that I grew up with a dub that keeps the original soundtrack
I remember seeing this in theaters pre covid; fun theater experience. Good all around. Broly VA does good work in this; shame he blew up his life immediately after this by his decades of being a massive PoS catching up to him

I thought Monica Rial made some BS accusations that shouldn't have the merit it did. Again, it's been a while and there could've been more things about him that I don't genuinely know
Yes, basically all the evidence brought forth about him was blatantly proven false, however for yeeeears he was kind of an asshole and a diva of sorts, just generally being rude and always wanting to be the center of attention, he toned it down and got alot more humble a couple years before the allegations happened, but his years of acting like that are probably why other voice actors at funimation made false claims and threw him under the bus, though even tho their claims were proven false through video evidence and eye witnesses, the damage to his career was already kinda done
Broly's final form in this movie is actually known as "Full Power Super Saiyan" for some reason
I love this movie so much. While yes, it is pretty much one big fight, it's incredible.
And fun fact: gogeta and broly actually did break reality. Basically, broly's ki which was so uncontrollable and intense clashed with gogeta's and "shattered reality." Then when clashing again, if I remember correctly, reality kind of tried to "pull itself back together." Something similar happened when goku first fought beerus in the anime but wasn't completely sure how to use God ki. Their clashes began sending out shockwaves that almost shattered reality, until beerus basically canceled out the shockwaves.
Most of Dragon Ball games comes with what if stories, Dragon Ball Fusion for 3DS had an what if Gine survived Planet Vegeta destruction and find Goku while he still a Kid on Dragon Ball, but he doesn't remember her because he lost his memory, same as Xenoverse 2 there's one of Z Broly wanting to kill every Goku on every timeline and he fights Super Broly
Also that is the main gripe I have with DBZA is that they made Goku waaay too dumb making people think who didn't watch DBZ that he is actually that stupid which he isn't yeah he ain't a genius or anything like that (unless it is fighting), but he wasn't on that level of stupidity.

Also there’s a Dragon Ball game called Dragon Ball Fusions where you can make a lot of what if fusions. One is a fusion of Goku and Z Broly - Karoly. I’d love to see you all react to DBZ movies.
So in DBGT, there is a scene where Vegeta has a mustache but he shaved it off.Also Tarble mention! He’s off living on another planet because he was too weak so their dad sent him away.
I think most people complain about DBZA making Goku so dumb because in DBZ and DBGT, Goku is actually much smarter. He’s not a genius but he’s not an idiot plus he’s a battle genius and master martial artist. He took things more seriously. DBS though dumbed Goku down which is why we see him acting dumber in the movie.
I love the movie and most of how Goku is portrayed in the movie, but the joke about Goku not knowing what repugnant meant would not be in it if it was Z Goku as he used a lot more difficult words often. It’s just something they began in Super 😅

Saiyans do in fact die in space unprotected, they do need to breathe, but they can survive in the high atmosphere but its unclear on what the exact limits are. Dragon Ball isn't exactly consistent with it's lore
Let me remind you Goku hit his head when he was a baby and on top of that he never went to school growing up, so he doesn't have book smarts like Gohan does shoot pretty much his whole life he has done nothing but fight people meanwhile Bardock didn't hit his head and he has street smarts.
Plus most of it comes from Goku just being severly naive and growing up on the countryside lol when you first meet Goku in OG DB he didn't even know what a girl was for crying outloud.
Of course Bardock is smarter than Goku the man got dropped on his head as a baby.

Not really, the animators included it as a little nod, but according to interviews, toriyama finished writting this movie, before even coming up with the concept for ultra instinct, so as far as this movies concerned, ui doesnt exist
I don't really understand how that's possible though. Goku directly mentions the ToP and the other universes and it shows a picture of Jiren in this movie. Doesn't that imply that the entire ToP arc preceded this movie and with it, MUI? If I recall correctly, at the very end of the anime for ToP, Vegeta asks Goku about MUI cuz he wants to fight against it while training and Goku specifically says that since the ToP, he hasn't been able to achieve the form again.
In fact, looking online I found this for where it falls on the timeline: "The movie depicts the fallout from the Tournament of Power, with the newly resurrected Frieza hatching new schemes while Goku and Vegeta continue to train with Whis. The Saiyan duo eventually come to blows with the titular Broly, a fan-favorite Dragon Ball Z movie villain, here making his debut in the main continuity from the pen of series creator Akira Toriyama. Thus, it's a must-see after watching the entirety of Dragon Ball Super."
I always wondered how much of a power gap it would've been between Mastered Ultra Instinct and Full Power Broly versus Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta and Full Power Broly. If it's how I think it is, maybe MUI is just as strong as the SSJB fusion.
