Y’know, if Boom really isn’t into regular Minecraft, then I really recommend Minecraft: Story Mode by Telltale games. It has a really great story, and acts somewhat like a regular telltale story game, just with Minecraft elements!
Maybe y’all can play Minecraft with the Adventure Time skin packs. Make Boom do it. There is no other option

as everyone else is saying, PLEASE do not move on to Fiona and Cake immediately! I know you're excited, but its REALLY important to watch Distant Lands FIRST!! Distant Lands is the ACTUAL wrap-up for the original AT cast and some elements of it tie into Fionna and Cake as well which will make these things not make sense!
Also....i really hope them being on the couch doesn't mean H man wont be joining them for Distant Lands/Fionna and Cake.... :( i know he was waiting for AT to be over to leave, but it's not over....
