According to Mark Hamill, he was told about Vader being Luke's father like a year in advance, but he was told he had to absolutely keep it a secret, because apart from Lucas and the other writer, he was the only person who knew that twist. He proceeded to stress about this because he talked in his sleep, and he was also afraid Carrie Fisher would find out somehow, because apparently she couldn't keep a secret for *anything*.
Also, Yoda absolutely fucking with Luke despite knowing exactly who he was and exactly why he was there will never not be one of the funniest things in this series. Just stealing his flashlight, stealing his dinner, and throwing all his shit on the ground for giggles.

Lightsabers do use power packs, but I've never read of them being replaced or recharged (could've missed it). Technically, the way they work is by sending energy through kyber crystals, which ignites into the plasma blade (I have read a lot).

As for viewing content, What Webbman76 said is fairly correct: Just watch prequel trilogy after the main trilogy, and from there you could just watch Rogue One. There is a cartoon Clone Wars series that is AMAZING to watch due to the artistry, character design, and story telling involved with it. It was actually released before Episode III came out as a teaser/world builder, so you could watch them after Episode II: Attack of the Clones and before Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (just remember, they're non-canon now, replaced by the later CGI Clone Wars that came out years later).
Solo might require the (CGI) Clone Wars series for some content but you could probably gather enough info from the movie without watching. I do highly recommend watching the CGI Clone Wars as it's not only still canon but also well received and a fun time! But no, you don't have to watch it before Episode III; in fact, DEFINITELY watch it AFTER the Prequel Trilogy. Mandalorian is also well structured to allow casual fans who haven't watched the animated show to watch it easily, but yes, the animated shows like Clone Wars and Rebels add A WHOLE LOT of content info, especially for Season 2 and on ward! Obi-Wan show is fine, but YOU NEED the context of those Animated shows unfortunately. Anything afterwards, I got nothing.
PS if wondering about the Sequel Trilogy and why I didn't say anything about it, it's cuz I don't have high praise for it. Yes, you should watch it for the channel content alone, but they mean so little to nothing to me, I have no answers on when to watch them and thus whenever you feel like watching them after the Prequels, obviously.

Video Game suggestions: I still recommend playing Forced Unleashed, even though it's non-Canon, just because the gameplay was fun, the story was great, and the characters were interesting.
I've not played Star Wars: Jedi (both Fallen Order and Survivor) but they're essentially the new hotness when it comes to Canon video games. When asking about games in space ie space fighter games, Star Wars: Squadrons is your answer to that. Again, haven't played but heard lots of good things.
Other old school games from early PC era that the others brought up are good, like Knights of the Old Republic and it's sequels (not to be confused with the MMO The Old Republic) are good but yet again, non-canon. There's also games that take place after this Original trilogy called the Jedi Knight series that are fun and interesting (but yet again, non-canon).
There are other really good games, but I won't mention them until he gets through the prequels.

Just watch the Originals and Prequels in release order. The Disney stuff gets tricky because they actually expect you to watch the shows alongside the films and that gets messy. Especially since the shows obviously require a greater time sink. They are also written assuming you have already watched the related films first. It's why you shouldn't listen to people saying you need to watch the first 6 seasons of Clone Wars 2008 which is a 121 episode commitment btw before watching Episode 3. Because that entire show is written assuming you already know what happens at the end of the Prequels. Watch Clones Wars 2008 after finishing the Prequels then move on to Rebels. You can probably watch the Sequels immediately after the Prequels. But both Rogue One and Solo feature Clone Wars 2008 characters. After that you got the Star Wars Tales series and Bad Batch which are the animated continuations of the Clone Wars/Rebels storylines and the Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett and the Ahsoka series which are the live action continuations of the Clone Wars/Rebels storylines. So obviously Clone Wars 2008 and Rebels are require viewing for most of the current shows.

Starwars: Clone wars 2008 is the 3D animated series, it is not necessary to see it for episode III but it presents very important context to see all the other series and a couple of references in spinoff films. I recommend watching it before the other series.

Checking release order of the shows and using it is recommended, I can't recall it myself but it helps. The shows give more content than the movies, at least in quantity easily but also emotional investment and LORE. After the movies, absolutely watch the shows, you'll love them.

And if you decide to watch Clone Wars, look up the "correct chronological order" because their release order is not it. That show is the foundation of almost every good show in the verse after it. Lucas put a lot, literally, into Clone Wars. Plus the spiritual and effective successor of George Lucas is Dave Filoni, who previously played a big part of directing Avatar the Last Airbender episodes. His work in Star Wars is what I love.

People fuck with both clone wars, but the 2d animated show is kinda just badass action and the 3D Clone Wars is more story heavy and every Star Wars show builds off of stuff introduced in the 3D Clone Wars. So for the tv shows do release order, 2D clone wars show, the 3D clone wars show, star wars rebels, Mandalorian etc. Release order is your best bet with the shows. As far as SOLO goes, DO NOT watch until you've seen at least four seasons of The Clone Wars, it has a spoiler that is A) pretty big and B) fairly confusing without context for how it happens.

But before you watch that search for the “Watch order” because if you just watch it from episode to episode it is out of order. So "Clone Wars" is the 2S Genndy Tartakovsky cartoon (think Samurai Jack, Dexter's Lab, Symbionic Titan, etc.). It's cool but technically non-canon.
And "THE Clone Wars" is a 7 season, 133 episode series that comes after both the live action movie, and a cgi movie that kicked off the series. (It leads into the Bad Batch, and a lot of the stand alone series on Disney+"

The "way to watch" Star Wars is complicated.
There's no ONE "right way" to watch it and yet there's still a "wrong way".
Like I don't think you should watch the Clone Wars series between movie 5 and 6 if you want to just watch all the movies first.
(That's the way they came out for the rest of the world and you can experience the moments in hindsight just as well as you could if you went chronologically).
I think you can watch Rogue One after the OG trilogy, but would hold off on Solo until after you finish the prequels and maybe even TCW show... but I feel like Star Wars can be enjoyed in any order so long as you put the pieces together yourself eventually.

There are two clone wars shows that's true. 'Clone Wars' and 'The Clone Wars'. 'Clone Wars' released between Episode 2 and 3 of the prequels, it a shorts format shows. 'The Clone Wars' released in 2008 is a 3d animated show that is canon to the movies and the rest of the universe. You can watch both if you want, there is even a 'The Clone Wars' movie as well. In terms of what order to watch all the shows, release order is probably easier, especially since the Disney Plus Star Wars shows are almost all connected to each other.

I think the finalie of clone wars works best after cause of the moment we all know
Yeah that gets a bit iffy, I say just stop Clone Wars after Season 6, watch Episode 3, then watch Season 7
I love how Ruff broke the lightsaber only like 10 mins before Luke just ended up losing it lol
I hope you will watch the Clone Wars TV show down the road
Not a Spoiler but I recall The whole Baby Yoda thing was only because nobody knew the name for Yoda’s species so they just called him Baby Yoda kinda like how Frieza’s race is called Frieza Race
Definitely give the Jedi Knight games a try, especially Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. They're great single player romps and imo they still hold up great
I actually just started streaming Jedi Survivor today
In an alternate time line
"I love you"
"Fuck off"
Please do family guy star wars parodies of the orignal trilogy
And then robot chicken after prequels XD
10:26 “Luke had to work to use the force! Rey did it because the Force is female!”
to go along with what Boom was saying, David prouse was the guy playing Vader in the suit, James Earl Jones is the voice, and Bob Anderson was the guy doing the lightsaber fights as Vader. Also you have to watch the newer Clone Wars but i would definitely check out the older 2D one aswell because of how cool it is.
"Imagine killing off a main character from the first movie 5 minutes into the 2nd?" says Ruff, never having watched the two Mortal Kombat movies I imagine
Checking release order of the shows and using it is recommended, I can't recall it myself but it helps. The shows give more content than the movies, at least in quantity easily but also emotional investment and LORE. After the movies, absolutely watch the shows, you'll love them.
There's the 7 seasons Clone Wars (its pilot is a movie), Rebels, Bad Batch, Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, and Ahsoka. Also Visions.
Id recommend watching it in timeline order cause there are episodes that lead up to the pilot film
I'll admit, I straight up forgot y'all have Patrick Star sitting there, so when Erik said "Patrick took my lightsaber," I perked up for a moment thinking, "Oh my god, did we finally get Ruff's first name?" Then, I remembered and went, "Duh." Seriously, Ruff is the only one of the 5 whose name I still haven't heard in any of these videos...for over 2 years. Anyway, yeah, fun little dumb moment for me. Ready to see Ruff experience this.
Wait, you still don't know his name or just forgot it? And do you want to know or not?
I didn't until now. If his discord name is legit, then it's Joe. I don't ever go on Discord, though, so...
Years later and I still don’t understand why Lando is wearing Han’s outfit in the last scene. Ever since the family guy parody pointed it out I can’t not notice and question every time???.
It prob budget of what they had in wardrobe
Pausing the video just to say: Boom and Sean, ya'll are very EVIL and twisted people. You know what you're doing. ?
*Eric
You also straight up don't need to watch Star Wars Resistance. But both clone wars shows and Star Wars Rebels are must watch shows in my opinion
Love the video and I can’t wait to see y’all’s reaction to the other movies.
On the side though you guys should definitely consider watching the Last Unicorn, I feel like you guys would enjoy it.
I second that, The last Unicorn is so good.
I say after you watched the movies + Rogue, one and Han Solo. Then I would advise to watch the clone wars (2008) show. But before you watch that search for the “Watch order” because if you just watch it from episode to episode it is out of order. So just search “ the clone wars (2008) watch order” to get the optimal order. There is a lot more I can say to watch but get through the movies first. I’ll tell you when it’s time lol. I literally can’t wait!
They can watch Clone Wars in release order and be fine. That's how it’s meant to be watched. That’s how I watched it and I didn’t miss a thing. People make way too big a deal out of the episode order for that show
Solo does have a slight spoiler though in it for a certain thing in Clone Wars, but they could still watch it before Clone Wars
Star Wars had many inspiration, including old cowboy movies, Flash Gordon, Akira Kurosawa movies, and Frank Herbert's Dune, which you should watch btw
I meant 2D (can't type today)
I would just default to release order. with the exception of Solo, they should wait until season 4 of clone wars for that one. Plus I think Rebels should be watched before Bad Batch, lotta references and cameos that don't work as well without context
Oh for sure! There is a definitely a commitment to order if we're putting shows on the table after the movies!
Now that you guys seen Obi-Wan as a force ghost, that's why he just disintegrated when Vader killed him. He actually used the force to transform before being killed, at least to my uinderstanding. If Vader actually striked, he would've just been cut in half
Vader did actually strike him. A force ghost is what a Jedi turns into when they die, they become one with the force after years of training. So Vader did actually kill Obi-Wan.
Please watch Star Wars The Clone Wars! The 2D Clone Wars 2003 mini-series was compiled into two movies that you should also watch.
please watch Andor & also mandalorian after you finish the movies?
There are two clone wars shows that's true. 'Clone Wars' and 'The Clone Wars'. 'Clone Wars' released between Episode 2 and 3 of the prequels, it a shorts format shows. 'The Clone Wars' released in 2008 is a 3d animated show that is canon to the movies and the rest of the universe. You can watch both if you want, there is even a 'The Clone Wars' movie as well. In terms of what order to watch all the shows, release order is probably easier, especially since the Disney Plus Star Wars shows are almost all connected to each other.
4,5,1,2,3,6 is the best watch order
Hatchet order, I agree. Nothing wrong with watching it in original release order if you want, hatchet order gives you the conclusion of two different era worth of story lines rather than just the prequels being independent but also at the same time not shoehorned in because you know how it ends. Trying to be as vague as possible.
Not for a first time watch thi
It also would be in line with the comic, because between 5 and 6, Luke learned of the history of obi wan during the prequel era.
Machete Order is trash. Ruins the drama of 6.
The fact I remember that windows game.
yall definetly need to play Knights of the old republic, its honestly a really good star wars rpg
You guys need to play jedi fallen order and jedi survivor after you guys do the prequel trilogy
you gotta play Battlefront 2
Interesting fact Luke’s injuries were real and they used the scene with the creature at the beginning to play off those injuries which mark hamill received in a car wreck
Not a spoiler but sort of obscure information if you aren't nearly ass deep in lore: Lightsabers run on kyber crystals. The energy regenerates itself if I remember the lore correctly. Not completely confident, maybe not quote me on that part. ?
You guys definitely need to play knights of the old republic and KOTOR 2.
I cannot describe how long the wait for this upload felt
ah shit, a third movie day
